We welcome you to the Annual Diamonds and Spurs Production Sale. Looking back over the last 14 years is very humbling thinking of the relationships established with customers and the valued friendships that all began with this sale. We find the success of the cattle that have been sold to be warranted a small portion in comparison of the value of the friendships that have been created. Often many of those relationships are now considered family. As there is a lot of uncertainty going on in the world, rest assured that it is an exciting time to be in the beef industry. From being fortunate to gather the praise of several breeders and livestock evaluators enabling us to claim the PTP Ring of Champion Show Bull of the Year, or to seeing the markets start to correct in the favor of the breeders has OBCC on an all-time high. The protein business is in more demand and held at a higher regard, than ever before. Legacy Lot

Seems fitting that I would start this out the same way Mr. Miller would have, Between me, you and the fence post……. all jokes aside we had thousands of conversations that began this way and they are some of the best moments when we reflect back on our time with Ronnie. The number of people that he impacted in his lifetime are truly countless, but for three young men in Southwest Missouri he was the “gate keeper” at the American Royal in Kansas City! A Cattleman that wore a tan cowboy hat, sport coat and silk scarf tied around his neck, yet it did not hide his callused hands or a profound gait that had shown years of hard work. He peered over the glasses on the tip of his nose with a stern face but greeted you with a smile or joke as you prepared to enter the ring! Where Ronnie truly became one of the family is those weeks spent in the yards in Denver, He would make sure all parties had what they needed to be successful, whether helping prepare area for the Simmental sale or providing supplies to those breeders in the yards. When we set out in 2008, fourteen years ago to pursue the annual production sale. Mr. Miller was one of the team members that help make this a success, arriving a few days early to make sure that the grounds were properly cleaned and prepared, seeing the food and beverages were ready to serve, and helping market cattle sale day! Let’s not forget he also made sure the rest of us had not cut any corners or failed to complete our list! For Mr. Miller it wasn’t all about the fame, nor did he care the role but knew someone had to do each and every task, without debate or argument he was ready to lend a hand. Personally, I loved to hear Ronnie tell of working sales, hauling cows, facilitating shows and youth events, he spoke of those whom he had work as if they were royalty and the places he had been as if they were his seven wonders of the world! We will miss the cards at the holidays, the phone calls to check on the weather, calf crop and family, the lunches we shared on his way to Branson to get some well-deserved relaxation. For three young men in Missouri without telling us directly you taught us hard work, loyalty and humility! Mr. Miller you will be missed but never forgotten!
