Shri. Shyam Jagannathan is a distinguished ofcer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), belonging to the 1997 batch of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. He currently serves as the Director General of Shipping in the Directorate General of Shipping , under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways , a role he assumed on July 3, 2023.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Jagannathan held the prestigious position of Development Commissioner at the Santa Cruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) , a premier Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mumbai, under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry . A graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, he began his professional journey with a brief tenure in the engineering sector before transitioning to the maritime domain. He joined the Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI), Mumbai, where he served with distinction for 15 years, rising through the ranks to become Captain. In 2008, he transitioned to the Indian Maritime Administration as Nautical Surveyor-cum-Deputy Director General of Shipping. Over the next seven years, he played a key regulatory role at the Directorate General of Shipping, followed by another seven years as Deputy Nautical Adviser in the Mercantile Marine Departments (MMD) at Mumbai, Chennai, and Kochi.

He furthered his academic credentials with a Master of Science in Maritime Affairs from the prestigious World Maritime University in Sweden, a globally renowned institution under the aegis of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).Currently, he serves as the Principal Ofcer of the Mercantile Marine Department, Mumbai, and holds the additional responsibility of Nautical Adviser to the Government of India at the Directorate General of Shipping. Throughout his tenure with MMD and DGS, he has been instrumental in driving major reforms, including the successful implementation of e-Governance solutions for seafarer certication and modernizing administrative practices. Dr Kiran D. Pandit is an accomplished Ayurvedic physician, educator, and public health advocate with over two decades of impactful work in integrative medicine. A graduate of K.G. Mittal Punarvasu Ayurved Mahavidyalaya (1995), he holds advanced qualications including an MD in Swasthavritta & Yoga from Dr. D. Y. Patil University (2015), PGDEMS from Hinduja Hospital, and a Diploma in Herbal Drug Manufacturing & Management. He is currently pursuing a PhD focused on Ayurveda-based healthcare innovation.Dr Pandit has conducted 400+ training programs and 350+ medical camps nationwide, promoting lifestyle disease management, disaster preparedness, and stress reduction through Ayurveda. He pioneered one of Mumbai’s earliest Mobile Medical Units serving urban slum communities.As a passionate advocate for Ayurveda, he has served as President of Ayurved Vyaspeeth (Thane), Visiting Faculty for institutions like the Reserve Bank of India and Mariners Academy, and member of the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine. Currently serving as the Medical Director and partner at Globus Medicare, Dr. Tiwari leads a team committed to delivering world-class occupational health services. He is recognized by leading P&I Clubs and several international maritime authorities for his contributions to seafarer health assessments and a d v i s o r y r o l e s i n m a r i t i m e m e d i c a l compliance.Previously, he has held critical roles as an intensive care physician, remote site medical specialist, and medical advisor to renowned global shipping and offshore organizations, further cementing his reputation as a leader in maritime and occupational healthcare.

Capt. Albe Zahariah embarked on his maritime career in 1989, joining Scindia Steam Navigation as a Direct Entry Cadet following the completion of his B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Mumbai. Demonstrating exceptional leadership and technical prociency, he rose steadily through the ranks.In 1995, he joined Gearbulk, Norway, where he further honed his skills and earned the rank of Master. Over the years, he commanded various vessels, gaining extensive experience across global maritime operations.In 2009, Capt. Zahariah brought his wealth of seafaring expertise to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), taking command of container vessels as Master. His deep operational knowledge and commitment to excellence led to his transition ashore in 2012, when he joined the Mumbai ofce of MOL Maritime (India) Pvt. Ltd. (MOLMI).
