USE YOUR SKILLS TO TRAIN OTHERS

TO SAVE LIVES WITH

What is ECSI?

Have you mastered life-saving skills such as CPR and First Aid and want to train others using resources that are affordable and accessible to all? ECSI (Emergency Care & Safety Institute) can help by offering multiple paths to becoming an instructor whether you have years of emergency care teaching experience or are brand new to training.

ECSI’s internationally recognized training programmes and resources offer are a better way for instructors to provide CPR and ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care) training to support schools, clubs, businesses, outdoor organisations and members of the public by:

• Offering high-quality materials that meet the latest CPR and ECC guidelines and that don’t break the bank.

• Providing flexible course delivery options to help students learn critical skills.

• Ensuring course administration is easy and involves zero administration fees.

ECSI have been working closely with emergency care instructors and students for over 15 years to deliver the following courses and certifications:

• Standard First Aid, CPR & AED

• Advanced First Aid, CPR & AED

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider CPR & AED (Professional Level)

• Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens

• Pet First Aid & Disaster Response

• Sports First Aid & Injury Prevention

• Wilderness First Aid – Emergency Care in Remote Locations

ECSI programmes are offered in association with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Emergency Physicians - two of the most renowned medical organizations in the world. The medical content in ECSI material published after 2020 is consistent with 2020 ILCOR recommendations. All ECSI courses meet or exceed the medical objectives of the 2020 American Heart Guidelines. ECSI courses are compatible to the equivalent courses offered by American Heart Association, American Red Cross and American Safety and Health Institute.

Become an ECSI instructor:

Follow one of two paths to become an ECSI instructor:

1. Ask for instructor reciprocity. This path is right for you if you: Have adequate content knowledge in the course(s) you would like to teach (see above) and can demonstrate adequate teaching experience (ie, instructor for another nationally recognized training organization).

2. Complete an Instructor Development Course. This path is right for you if you: Have content knowledge but little or no teaching experience and would of course like to learn how to train others to perform one or more or even all of the above life-saving skills.

Whichever path you choose you will need to first associate yourself with a current, official ECSI Education Centre in order to complete the process. If your training centre or your employer is not already approved as an ECSI Education Centre, you or your employer will need to complete the Education Centre Application first. This will give you the independence to teach emergency care courses as needed instead of relying on an outside (often costly!) training organization.

Engaging training resources and materials for ECSI courses are delivered in partnership with Public Safety Group, A Jones & Bartlett Learning Brand and its representative in the UK and Europe – Mare Nostrum Group.
