Dawn Heese found her design inspiration at a flea market in France, “...where I discovered a small bundle of letters written by soldiers during the war. I knew I had to bring their stories to life through fabric. Digging into my collection of antique French textiles, I found a paisley print with heart-shaped motifs that seemed destined for this project.”

It just has her all over it and the same with this line. Every time I look at the prints I see her confident, outspoken, strong, gentle, loving personality.”
Carrie Quinn’s newest collection is “named for my sister, Anne, who was named after our great grandmother, Anna Bennett, Anna is a common name on the Swedish side of my family. Anna was born in Sweden in 1865, and came to America in 1880. During the early part of Anna’s life, the leaves of the indigo plant were used to dye fabric a beautiful colorfast blue, often associated with denim blues”.

“Making Waves was inspired by my son, Benjamin Livingstone Solberg. Ben was the first boy born into our little family and much younger than his two sisters, so he made more than a few waves when he was born,” explains Katie Solberg. “He continues to make waves as a rambunctious six-year-old boy who is driving me nuts one minute and then showering me with kisses and cuddles the next.”

As Pam Buda explains, “Some might even consider it the “black sheep” color of the quilting world. But, truth be told, black can do amazing things when paired with other colors. Interior designers say that every room should have a little black in it, and I think the same is true about quilts. Why not make a quilt entirely of black prints?
