Biography of Marc Korenberg

Marc A. Korenberg is a strategic finance executive with a long list of achievements in the financial and business sectors. Over his 24-year career, he has developed exceptional capability and expertise in numerous areas, including business development and growth, operational planning and budgeting, financial oversight and control, infrastructure build-out, and capital management.

The key to Marc’s success and longevity in his profession is his ability to solve problems and get things done. He has consistently improved the performance and output of every organization in which he has been involved, whether in finance, engineering, manufacturing, or sales roles.

Marc is a lifelong sports fan, particularly of the Boston baseball, football, and basketball teams.

He has an extensive athletic background himself, having played several sports over the years. In addition, he was formerly a US Army paratrooper.

Early Years and Education Marc Korenberg was born on April 11, 1977, in Winchester, Massachusetts. He spent most of his childhood in the nearby suburb of Framingham.

From 1991 to 1995, Marc attended Framingham High School, where he was a varsity basketball player and the captain of the varsity soccer team. He later attended the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1999.

Years later, Marc would earn a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance at the Keller Graduate School of Management.

After college, Marc moved to New York City to work for UBS Investment Bank in a corporate finance position. Early on, he was recognized for his outstanding performance and was assigned to a team of consultants for senior-level management, helping develop pitch books and strategies for presentations.

Marc Heeds the Call of Duty At that point, Marc was poised to make a significant step up in his investment banking career and was considering a position in equity research as well. But the tragic events of September 11, 2001, in which some folks he knew personally lost their lives, caused him to reconsider his next move. Personally affected by the event, he was compelled to perform a more significant role than moving up the corporate ladder. He subsequently left New York City and enlisted in the United States Army.

After going through Infantry school, Marc attended up for Airborne Paratrooper jump school and then underwent Special Forces training. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and served as a paratrooper until 2005.

Marc’s Love of Motorcycles When Marc’s tour of duty ended, he joined his parents in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Shortly afterward, he was presented with the opportunity to pursue a recent passion: motorcycling.

While in the army, Marc had developed a strong interest in motorcycles. So when he was offered a chance to work at a family-owned motorcycle and power sports dealership in Bear Delaware, he jumped at the chance.

Initially assigned to the sales department, Marc quickly moved into a finance role, drawing on the skills and capabilities he developed at UBS Investment Bank before joining the army. He soon became the company’s General Manager for Sales and Finance.

Reentry into the Finance Sector

Even while working at the dealership, Marc was planning his eventual reentry into the financial world. After completing his MBA at Keller Graduate School, he moved to Pleasanton, California to work as a Business and Financial Analyst at Zeltiq Aesthetics.

Shortly thereafter, now Director of Commercial Operations, Marc was assigned to manage the company’s business intelligence and data teams, overseeing the analytics, business intelligence, customer service, marketing operations sales operations, and service teams.

Marc was later promoted to Director of Finance and Operations and was subsequently named the MVP of International Business at Zeltiq.

When Zeltiq was acquired by Allergan in 2017, Marc stayed on to oversee the integration of the company’s international business operations. Because of his efforts, he was recognized with the CEO Award for Excellence.

In 2018, Marc opted to pursue other opportunities with Revance Therapeutics, which was then a clinical-stage biotech company. Spearheading the company’s shift from clinical to commercial operations, Marc filled several operational, commercial and technical roles at the firm.

Over the next several years, Marc Korenberg served as SVP of Operations overseeing planning and building operations in partnership with the company’s finance and operations departments.

In late 2023, Marc was asked to join the finance team as Deputy to the CFO, leading the company’s financial operations and helping manage the manufacturing and supply chain departments. He also played a key role in the company’s partnership discussions and agreement negotiations.

In his current position as Senior Vice President of Finance, Marc Korenberg is tasked with steering Revance through a planned merger with Crown Laboratories.

Other Interests Marc is an avid sports fan, having been a loyal follower of the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins since childhood. He played soccer and basketball throughout high school until college and was an active snowboarder and horseback rider for many years.

Marc is a certified animal lover and even planned to become a veterinarian at one point. He has supported many charities over the years, most notably ASPCA, the Nashville Wine Auction’s cancer research campaign, and The Gratitude Network, a California-based initiative that aims to help underprivileged children around the world.

In his spare time, Marc enjoys golfing, wine tasting, and spending time with his family.
