St. Thomas Tiny Homes Program House I worked on this project for a month during my time at CGS Architects Inc. This is a community centre for members of the St. Thomas city. The design is meant to embrace Canadian-styled wood-frame construction, with a modern twist to it.

The main skill I attained from working on this project is the creation of industrystandard working drawings. This was done under the direct supervision of a Principal Architect, whom I worked with to create this community centre proposal.

It is important to mention that I individually drafted every single drawing included for this project with the exceptions being the four drawings shown on this page. For these, I took another drawing set as a template and revised them to suit the design requirements. I did, however, revise them on my own.

Abandoned Farm
Abandoned Farm Rehabilitation Proposal
This project aims at creating an architectural rehabilitation proposal for an Abandoned farm by the name of Al-Mashrou near Jericho, Palestine. In this semester-long class project, we decided to re-use and add some buildings to accommodate four extra programs: a children’s summer camp, women’s agricultural training center (WATC), tourist resort, and an artists residency. My group’s contribution was the design of the programs and the buildings used. All of the following drawings and visualizations are my own.
Added Buildings Re-used Buildings
Parking Lot
Artists Residency
This parking lot is meant to accommodate all of the guests that will be coming to the farm. Farm workers, the women trainees, the artists, tourists, and the children’s families.
These buildings will be used for artists to come and stay in.
Reception and Restaurant
Classrooms
This set of buildings include the reception for the tourism program, and a restaurant for everyone to enjoy. This restaurant will be ran by the WATC, which will help them gain an income, preserve their culture through culinary arts, and use their own produce.
These buildings will be used as classrooms for the children’s summer camp. In here, children will be a variety of subjects to make the camp both productive and fun.
Art Gallery & Market
Assembly Area
This set of buildings will be used as an art gallery that will exhibit work from the artists in the artists residency and others. They will also be used for merchants to set up small shops there. These shops could sell products like clothing and souvenirs to the tourists.
This shaded area will be used as an assembly area for the children’s summer camp.
Clinic
Boys Dormitory & Bathroom
This is a clinic that will be available to everyone on the farm.
The big semi-circle shaped building is a boys dormitory. The second building beside it is a bathroom for them to children to use.
Sports Fields/Courts
Cafeteria
This area includes a massive football field, two basketball courts, as well as multiple shaded seats. This area may be accessed by anyone.
This is a cafeteria that could be used by everyone at the farm.
Girls Dormitory
Water Treatment Plant
This building is going to be used for the girls dormitories. It is shaded on the inside, and each room includes it own bathroom. This building may also be used by other types of guests when the summer camp is not active.
This plant will help recycle the water that is being used in the farm. Through a series of tubes, it will be connected to all of the buildings on the farm, collecting as much water as possible. This was necessary since the farm is located in a dry area.
Kitchen
Convenience Store
This area will be used as a kitchen for the WATC to prepare and package produce and food to sell outside of the farm itself. This will also help the WATC gain an income.
These buildings will have a few convenience stores, coffee shops, dessert shops, and bathrooms. This will help attract more people to the farm.
WATC Reception & Changing Room
Compost Management Facility
One of the buildings will be used as a reception for the WATC, while the other as a changing room for the women trainees.
This facility will turn compost produced in the farm into fertilizer. This facilities helps the farm become sustainable.
Study Center
This project is my proposed design for a study center at the University of Toronto. This was done as part of a semester-long studio course. In this course, we were given this site and were told to design a study center based on a singular word. The word that I chose was ‘hierarchy’. The way that I expressed this word architecturally was by creating spatial hierarchy both on the horizontal and vertical plane. As demonstrated in the concept diagram below, I created the horizontal planes based on a vertical hierarchy, and vice versa with the vertical planes as well. I then assigned a purpose for every room based on their location on the vertical hierarchy.

Jane and Finch Community Space
This project is a community space in Jane and Finch constructed in my two weeklong ARCH395 Design-Build course. This space is meant to be used as a seating area, and as a stage for artists and community members to use and engage with. I was in the group responsible for making the two seating pavilions shown above. Our entire group, including myself, took part in the design, the woodworking, and the building of those two pavilions.
After many iterations, our group came decided on a design concept based on the idea that these pavilions should reflect the vibrant environment of this space. We believed that this would be best expressed through a wave-like pattern across the facade of the pavilion.
This project required many different abilities. We used our creative abilities to come up with the design concept, our technical drawing abilities to produce technical drawings that can later be used while dealing with the woodworking and construction aspect of this project. We also used our financial and engineering skills to come up with an affordable and buildable design. Last but not least, we relied on our teamwork and cooperation skills to design and build this structure.
ARCH200: Drawing and Representation
For this project, our objective was to identify the different housing typologies within a 1KM area, and to propose an intervention to each one them. I categorized the three typologies based on the type of garage they have, as shown on this drawing. My intervention intended to create an addition based on what I deemed as a necessary space for each typology.
As for the Built-In Garage, I added a dual-function addition that would serve as a patio and as a canopy. For the houses without a garage, I added a canopy with a storage room in the back that would connect to the house. Finally, I added a hallway to the detached garage.
