Your Chamber works every day to make our community a place where businesses can grow and prosper, where people want to raise their families and tourists want to visit.

To meet this mission, the Chamber’s organizational structure includes specific committees to create a strong economy and business climate.

As a member-based nonprofit organization, it allows members and businesses to help drive the focus of the Chamber of Commerce and meet the needs of our business community. By including our members in the discussion, the Chamber is the center of our community and is able to adapt as needed. We are the voice of our business community due to your participation and engagement. If you are interested in joining a committee, fill out a committee application to start the process.

AMBASSADORS

Chair- Jodi Wainwright – First Community Credit Union

The Ambassadors are the oldest and largest standing committee. Ambassadors are the public relations arm of the organization that works for business and community interests in Josephine County.

This fun group of business representatives dedicate themselves to serving the entire Chamber membership by promoting the Chamber’s message and mission to fellow business professionals within our community.

BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION (BR&E)

Mark Stutzman – Farmer’s Building Supply

The purpose of BR&E is to help existing local businesses grow, expand and overcome obstacles. Formal face-to-face business surveys are conducted every three years to gather vital information to provide assistance to local companies. After the survey the chamber implements symposiums, forums and classes to help in the areas that businesses need at that current time. They also engage with City Council, County Commissioners and government agencies to relay important concerns from the business community.

This committee reviews monthly financials and helps create the annual budget. They serve as an advisory committee for all financial guidance. As a 501c6, this is an important step for monitoring and financial stability.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

Chair - Josh Ballock, Allcare Health

This committee is the advocacy arm of the Chamber. They identify, evaluate, and recommend positions to the Board of Directors on national, state, and local governmental political issues and opportunities that will impact the business community and economy in Josephine County. The committee also promotes community awareness, engagement and education on issues impacting the community through forums and other resources. The committee is bipartisan and covers what is in the best interest of businesses.

LEMONADE DAY

Chair- Billy Rossknecht, Hart Insurance

Lemonade Day is a fun, experiential program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their very own business - a lemonade stand. Youth have the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship by setting up their business during our community-wide Lemonade Day in August. The Chamber continues to branch out to work with all ages in our community to develop our future leaders.

YOUNG PROFESSIONAL NETWORK (YPN)

Chair- Robyn Lasky, Oregon Broker at RE/MAX Integrity

This group is for young professionals in the target age range of 21-45 who are looking for networking opportunities with other young professionals, connections to the community and business leaders, community engagement, and professional development. YPN holds monthly luncheons, professional development & quarterly socials. They also organize an annual community service project. This group is creating the next generation of business and community leaders.

AWARDS BANQUET

Annually we hold our Awards Banquet to celebrate business. We look back at the accomplishments for the previous year, our goals for the upcoming year, and to present the business award winners. It is an evening to honor local businesses and organizations as well as personal contributions to the community.

CANDIDATE FORUMS

The Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce hosts candidate forums to support advocacy, communication, and community engagement, core pillars of our mission. These events give members and the public a chance to hear directly from candidates, understand their positions on key business issues, and make informed decisions. By fostering dialogue and transparency, we ensure the voices of local businesses are heard in the policymaking process, helping to build a stronger economic future for our region

CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Concerts in the Park is a beloved community-building event that the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce has proudly hosted for 40 years. This free summer concert series brings families, friends and neighbors together to enjoy live music in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. Hosted in Riverside Park, we continue the tradition of fostering connection, supporting local talent and celebrating the vibrant spirit of our community, all while relaxing in a beautiful setting along the Rogue River.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

Business after Hours is the premiere networking event for business professionals. It is generally hosted by a business once a month from 5:30pm-7:00 pm. A great opportunity to discuss and share ideas while learning about other local businesses.

It is a relationship-building experience held in a relaxed setting that benefits you and your company through added contacts and resources. Stay for 20 minutes or enjoy the full event. Business After Hours are typically held the third Thursday of each month.

BUSINESS FOR BREAKFAST –GREETERS

This active group of businesses and organizations start their Wednesday mornings early at 8:00 am to 9:30 am with some laughs and announcements about what is going on in the community.  Each week is hosted by a business at their location or the location of their choice, that can accommodate 65-80 people. Check the calendar to see who the business host each week and location. Each attendee has one opportunity to promote their products and services.

KICKSTART

Workshop for new members or a refresher for current members on available benefits available through membership. This workshops also includes hands-on business directory training.

LEMONADE DAY

Lemonade Day event empowers local youth to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship by planning, launching, and running their own lemonade stands. This hands-on experience teaches valuable skills like budgeting, marketing, customer service, and goal-setting. Aligned with the Chamber’s mission to support and promote local commerce, Lemonade Day helps inspire the next generation of business leaders while fostering a spirit of innovation, responsibility, and community involvement.

PEERSPECTIVES FORUMS

The Chamber’s Peerspectives forums, held quarterly and hosted by our Business Retention & Expansion Committee, bring members together to address key issues impacting the local business community. These solution-focused gatherings are designed to engage and educate, offering a platform for open dialogue, shared experiences, and collaborative problem-solving. By highlighting challenges and exploring practical strategies as a community, Peerspectives strengthens local business connections and supports long-term economic vitality in our region.

ROGUE LEADERSHIP TRAINING EXPERIENCE

The Rogue Leadership Training Experience is an immersive, multi-month program designed to develop the next generation of leaders in Josephine County. Through a combination of hands-on learning, expert facilitation, and real-world application, participants build skills in personal, organizational, and community leadership. The program brings together a diverse cohort of professionals who are committed to growing their impact and strengthening the region’s future. More than a training, Rogue Leadership Training is a catalyst for connection, collaboration, and long-term community leadership.

TAP WALK

This is the valley’s premier craft beer event held in beautiful Grants Pass. The Chamber of Commerce places breweries, food vendors and restaurants inside downtown businesses. Participants stroll from location-to-location sampling amazing craft brews and delicious food!

Each year, the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce brings the community together for the Annual Awards Banquet—an evening dedicated to celebrating the businesses, organizations, and individuals who help shape the strength and character of our region. The 2026 event, themed “Success is in Bloom,” was a sold-out celebration filled with energy, connection, and recognition of the people who make Josephine County such a special place to live and do business.

In addition to honoring this year’s outstanding award recipients, the evening highlighted the continued impact of Chamber programs, partnerships, and the collective work being done to support local businesses and strengthen our economy. The Catalyst program once again showcased the generosity of our business community, helping open doors for new and growing enterprises to engage, connect, and thrive through Chamber membership.

The Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce is bringing Lemonade Day back on! Last year 300 kids participated! This program continues to grow and evolve preparing out next generation of entrepreneurs. Throughout the course of the program, these young entrepreneurs learn how to start, own, and operate their own business- a lemonade stand. They learn business skills, financial literacy, goal setting, and teamwork. This experience helps spark an explosion of new confidence in their abilities and a new vision of the possibilities for the future. Participants are encouraged to spend some, save some for the future, and share some with a local non-profit of their choice. Ages in the program ranges from K-8TH grade. Each

participant will learn valuable skills. Lessons include creating a budget, finding investors, customer service, product creation, selling tips and more.

This is an annual event for the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber continues to branch out to work with all ages in our community to develop our future leaders.

Nestled within Oregon Caves National Monument, the Oregon Caves Chateau stands as a testament to early 20th-century rustic architecture and the burgeoning era of automobile tourism. Constructed between 1931 and 1934, this six-story lodge was designed by local architect Gust Lium, utilizing native materials like Port Orford cedar to harmonize with its natural surroundings. The Chateau features 23 unique rooms, a fine dining room, and a 1930s-era coffee shop, embodying the charm of that period

The development of the Chateau was closely tied to the efforts of the Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce in the early 1900s. Recognizing the potential of the Oregon Caves as a tourist destination, the Chamber played a pivotal role in funding and promoting the construction of a highway to the caves, which officially opened on June 27, 1922. This new accessibility sparked significant public interest and underscored the need for upscale accommodations to serve automobile travelers, a symbol of status and modernity at the time.

In response, local businessmen established the Oregon Caves Company in 1922, with the vision of enhancing visitor experience by providing lodging and other amenities near the caves. Their commitment led to the creation of the Chateau, which has since become an iconic part of the monument’s landscape.

Despite its historical significance, the Oregon Caves Chateau has faced challenges in maintaining its structural integrity. In 2016, it was designated as one of Oregon’s Most Endangered Places by Restore Oregon, highlighting the urgent need for preservation efforts. While the caves and tours remain open to visitors, the Chateau is closed for extensive rehabilitation aimed at addressing safety concerns and enhancing accessibility, ensuring that this National Historic Landmark can continue to welcome visitors for generations to come.

CITY OF GRANTS PASS

The City of Grants Pass prides itself on creating a climate that supports a healthy economic ecosystem; one built on active networks, robust partnerships, and cultivated collaborations. These conditions foster an environment for the area’s practical and strategic growth. Grants Pass is a mecca for small business with leverageable assets of tourism, highly accessible outdoor recreation, being a transportation hub, and an overall quality of life.

Small Business

Home-grown business is an economic staple. The city works closely with the Rogue Community College (RCC) and the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) to assist entrepreneurs and business owners with growth, recruitment, expansion, and retention. Many small businesses launch at the Growers’ Market, a Saturday morning tradition in Grants Pass for more than two decades. A consistent theme carried out over the years for the Business Retention and Expansion Survey conducted by the Chamber is businesses highly rate Grants Pass as a good/very good place to live and do business. From a two-man coffee cart to the Wall Street stock board, Grants Pass has seen entrepreneurs like Dutch Brothers grow to a publicly traded company because of the strong support of local customers. In the city of Grants Pass, “the friendly, small-town feel, and support of loyal customers are especially valued.”

Innovation and entrepreneurial spirit are alive and well in the heart of Grants Pass. Downtown houses multiple coworking, makers, and incubator spaces that focus on supporting start-up business development. The local economy has long held the “grow your own” philosophy, which is woven into the cultural fabric of the community. Regular design workshops, pitch opportunities, and networking events are part of the Grants Pass entrepreneur landscape. A strong local economy requires a dynamic and nurturing network of support, which Grants Pass has online and is ready to serve.

Strategic Growth

Solid regional partnerships help the city provide support to manufacturing and primary industries. Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc (SOREDI) promotes and manages tax incentives for key industrial sites, like Spalding Industrial Park, while the city offers matching grants and low-interest loan incentives dedicated to infrastructure and development. Each year, Grants Pass Urban Renewal Agency (URA) awards matching grants to encourage development,

contributing to private investment in infrastructure, energy efficiency, and accessibilities improvements. The URA has additionally dedicated several million dollars to public infrastructure and amenities, like the Spalding Industrial sewer upgrade and the downtown event space at Owl Plaza. Grants Pass’s location at the intersection of three state highways combined with two I-5 interchanges, a short rail line and the Grants Pass Airport provide strategic transportation advantages for ease of commerce.

Partnerships with Business Oregon, WorkSource Oregon, Rogue Workforce Partnership, Rogue Community College, and Southern Oregon University contribute to the workforce pipeline fueling growing businesses in Grants Pass. Private education and health services are among the top increasing industry sectors.

Tourism

The City of Grants Pass sponsors three major community events: 4th of July Celebration, Art Along the Rogue Chalk Art and Music Festival, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Each event provides an opportunity for local businesses and vendors to showcase their goods and services, and for many, the chance to give back. Our community members and businesses value the economic stimulus these events provide and recognize the draw for visitors far and wide.

To further promote tourism activities, each year the City awards Tourism Promotion Grant funds to businesses and organizations to promote events, assets, and activities that bring visitors to town. In turn, this supports lodging, hospitality, restaurants, merchants, and retailers. A newly developed asset, Dollar Mountain Trail Systems opened in fall of 2025 as a prime location for mountain biking and hiking.

Grants Pass has an especially vibrant downtown with a historic, quaint feel. The Grants Pass community invests in the heart of the city and has formed downtown organization to support merchants and strengthen the core. Main Street Grants Pass works directly with downtown property and business owners to create continuity and secure state grants to assist with private investment in historic buildings, placemaking, and beautification.

Purpose-built and thoughtfully designed, this trail system is already gaining recognition as a regional, and even national, draw for mountain biking, while remaining accessible for hikers and families looking to explore the outdoors.

THE APPLEGATE VALLEY:

THE AUTHENTIC WINE COUNTRY EXPERIENCE

Grants Pass, in addition to its outdoor adventures, chic boutiques, and farmto-fork food scene, is also the gateway to the Applegate Valley, home to 16 distinct wineries to explore. The unique geography created by the Siskiyou and Cascade Mountains and the Applegate River creates many microclimates within this region, making it home to dozens of varieties, from favorites like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, to more obscure varieties like Vermentino and Cinsault. These varieties, in turn, are made into a wide range of wines, including white, red, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Many wineries are family owned, and it isn’t uncommon for the winemaker to be the one pouring your wine. These small family estates each offer a unique experience, whether it’s live music on the sprawling lawn at Schmidt Family Vineyards or seeing behind-the-scenes at Troon, Plaisance Ranch, Walport Family Cellars or Two Rivers Vineyard. From the wine curious to the wine connoisseur, everyone will feel right at home in the Applegate Valley.

Ready to plan your trip? Most wineries are within a half-hour driving radius of each other, with eight wineries (and a creamery and a pear cidery) all on one loop called Kubli Road. We recommend picking out 3-4 wineries for your afternoon, so that you can take your time enjoying what each one has to offer. Many wineries allow kids, dogs, and outside picnics, though we recommend visiting their websites or calling to confirm. Driving through the charming hills, you’ll also find lavender farms, fresh produce stands, and several farm-to-fork eateries, a testament to the incredible biodiversity and ideal climate along this scenic river. Whether you’re dressing up for a day out with friends or just wanting a place to relax after a hike, the Applegate Valley has a wine experience for you. Come sip and explore with us!

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN GRANTS PASS

Downtown Historic Grants Pass has the small-town charm, history, and specialty shops for locals and visitors. The historic district is alive with activity, small businesses, galleries, and more. It is the full experience with free parking. The Downtown historic district is the heart of our community. It is the perfect spot to find unique shops from boutiques, glass blowing, antique stores to local art and goods. Downtown also offers an array of shopping for jewelry, clothing, shoes, and the latest fashion trends. While shopping, don’t forget to sample local treats from the famous Blind George’s popcorn, chocolates, gelato, coffee, and more!

Take a stroll on a self-guided walking tour to learn the unique history with buildings from the 1800’s! The Famous “It’s the Climate” sign still hangs on 6th Street welcoming visitors. It was first hung on July 20, 1920.

Make it a day by dining at one of the local restaurants or grabbing a drink at a taproom, distillery, or tasting some local wine and cider. Downtown Grants Pass has a little bit of everything for all budgets and tastes. Throughout the year, downtown also hosts several hometown celebrations including the Boatnik Parade, Fabulous 50’s and Cruise the Rogue, Art Along the Rogue, and the Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade. The newly renovated Owl Plaza serves as a dynamic multiuse space that takes on many forms throughout the year, including hosting the renowned chalk art festival, Art Along the Rogue.
