Langlade County Offices INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT Provides information technology services to the departments of Langlade County. They support the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software on an IBM AS/400 and a Wide Area Network. They also provide various types of tax roll and tax deed reports to the public via several formats on a chargeable basis.
JUVENILE COURT OFFICE Is the custodian of all formal juvenile records including terminations of parental rights, delinquencies and children in need of protection and services. Citations issued for violations such as possession of tobacco, truancy, disorderly conduct, underage consumption of alcohol, shoplifting, etc., are processed in this office.
LAND CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT Has programs targeted to conserve and protect the natural resources. Programs include: Farmland Preservation, Pollution Control Program, Nutrient Management Program, Wildlife Damage Abatement and Claims, and Land and Water Resource Management Plan. They also provide information and education.
LAND RECORDS & REGULATIONS DEPARTMENT Administers the zoning, sanitary, land division, and real property listing programs. The County Surveyor records are located within the department, but the County Surveyor position is currently vacant. The office issues permits which are required by the county’s zoning, shoreland/floodplain zoning, private onsite wastewater treatment system (POWTS), subdivision and nonmetallic mining reclamation ordinances. They also provide parcel maps and information, provide survey records, maintain the county’s GIS (geographical information system), and manage the county’s rural address system in cooperation with the towns.
MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT Is responsible for the administration and management of the Langlade County Courthouse, Health Care Center, Safety Building, Resource Center, Forestry Office and Fairgrounds buildings.
REGISTER OF DEEDS OFFICE Records information on Birth, Marriage, Domestic Partnership, and Death Certificates, Chattel Mortgages, Federal Tax Liens, Conditional Sales Contracts, Deeds and Mortgages, Plats, Certified Survey Maps, UCC Filings, Articles of Incorporation, all Conveyances of Title, Military Discharges and Revocable Trusts.

REGISTER IN PROBATE OFFICE Assists the public regarding all estate proceedings, guardianship and protective placements, mental and alcohol commitments and adoptions.
SHERIFF’S OFFICE Is responsible for the protection of persons and property throughout the county. Operations of the Sheriff’s Office include enforcing the laws of the State of Wisconsin, investigation of reported crimes, patrol and accident investigation on all roads within the county, snowmobile patrol, operation of the single county-wide enhanced 911 center (which dispatches all fire, police and EMS calls), operation of 120 bed county jail facility, public relations activities like D.A.R.E. within the county’s school districts, civil process service, courtroom security and the administration of all department functions.
SOCIAL SERVICES Protects and assists vulnerable members of the public. They assist residents of Langlade County in achieving and maintaining a higher quality of life and continually strive to expand quality services to ensure a positive future for Langlade County.
TREASURER’S OFFICE Receives, deposits, and invests all moneys belonging to the County. The Treasurer collects postponed and delinquent Real Estate Taxes and distributes said Taxes to appropriate municipalities and school districts. They also provide information about Taxes and/or Real Estate descriptions.
VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE Provides counseling for the veteran to expose him or her to available benefits and assists in navigating a course through the appropriate channels in order for the veteran to become connected to entitled benefits.
VICTIM WITNESS COORDINATOR Is the liaison between the district attorney and victims or witnesses during the process of the court hearings, such as explaining the court system, compiling restitution, providing information regarding court dates, referrals to counseling organizations, etc.
