In celebration of National Volunteer Month this April, we welcomed a series of meaningful volunteer events that highlighted the spirit of connection and service. We were honored to host Ava Tierney and her classmates from Saint Vincent Ferrer High School, who visited as part of the Leading with Kindness initiative in collaboration with Bear Givers. Together with our residents, students designed custom t-shirts for teddy bears and wrote heartfelt notes for future recipients, sparking thoughtful intergenerational conversations about life, careers, and the power of kindness. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Gemma Wang of The Melody Project, whose moving solo performance filled our community with warmth and joy. As a talented musician and dedicated volunteer, Gemma exemplified how one person ’ s passion can create a lasting impact. Throughout the month, our ongoing intergenerational music program continued to thrive, with students from local schools performing for residents and building bonds through shared melodies and stories. These volunteer moments served as powerful reminders of how generosity, creativity, and community can come together to uplift us all.
