The Story of the Maple Valley Gnome

Once upon a time in a magical land
A committee was formed to work on a plan.
To

the forest they journeyed where the fairy folk roam

‘Til they came to the trail of the Maple Valley Gnomes.
“Hello friends,” they called out.
“Would you lend us an ear?

We need help, we’ve been toiling for almost a year.”

Then a rustling was heard and a voice by the lane answered:
“There’s an artist we know, Sherri Brady’s her name.”
And in a flourish of mist she appeared right on cue, with a wink and a smile she knew just what to do.

A wand made of cedar she swirled through the fog then a gnome appeared chuckling on a forest floor log.

With a leaf on his cap and a smile in his voice, they had found their new mascot.

A most magical choice.

As they all walked together through the gently falling rain, one of the travelers asked the gnome:

“Pal, what is your name?”
He shrugged, “I don’t know, could you help me decide?”
So they put out the call to folks far and wide.
The townspeople were giddy as they all pitched in and a name was selected that was just right for him.
Then everyone gathered to welcome him home. For the big introduction of the Maple Valley Gnome.

Thanks to community members Cassandra and Bradley who suggested the winning name.
