You’ll notice this Fall Newsletter has a fresh, new look that reflects an exciting phase in MAP International’s journey. As we’ve grown in our expertise connecting pharmaceutical partners with trusted organizations worldwide, our mission remains unchanged while our capacity to deliver impact has never been greater.

Each story represents a life transformed by our growing expertise in global health supply chains and the powerful message your support delivers: “You are seen. You are loved. You matter.”

Thanks to you, MAP USA reaches people like Mike and Alicia

“No insurance, no hope.” Those were the despairing words Mike* spoke to his wife Alicia* after spending nearly 21 days in a near coma caused by congestive heart failure, compounded by pneumonia, a pulmonary embolism and COPD. No insurance meant they couldn’t afford their medications.

More than 28 million Americans are uninsured or underinsured, Mike and Alicia being two of them. But thanks to supporters like you and a clinic, Good Health Ministries, that is part of MAP USA, they received the medication they needed, free of cost.

The program is dedicated to improving health equity across the U.S. by delivering essential medicine to uninsured and underinsured individuals in medically underserved communities. It serves 125 clinics across eight states, including new sites in Florida and North Carolina and a doubling of its network in Texas. In 2024, MAP USA delivered $1.2 million in medicine and health supplies and enabled 290,000 patient treatments for chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension.

In 2026, MAP plans to double medicine distribution and expand its clinic network to fill a critical need.

No one should have to choose between medicine and survival. Through your gifts, you can help build healthier and more equitable communities.

Ian can see again

Ian, who lives on the island of St. Vincent, works as a tailor. Then one day, Ian noticed his vision felt a little blurry.

Day by day his vision grew worse, and he could no longer see well enough to do his job.

Without his income, Ian and his family were forced to move from their home and were barely scraping by. Then he heard about a medical mission team performing free eye surgeries in neighboring Barbados.

The doctor there discovered a cataract that was the culprit causing Ian’s vision to fail. The team, using intraocular lenses and surgical supplies from MAP International, performed surgery to remove the cataract and restore Ian’s vision.

“As a result of his successful cataract

surgery, Ian can now see well again and has returned to work and can provide for his family,” said a mission team member. “His overall outlook on life is much more positive and he has even started dressing better, like he used to before he had problems with his vision.”

Wilishon says thanks to you for helping him get back to school!

Seven-year-old Wilishon lives with his father, mother, and brother in a batey community in the Dominican Republic. His father, Lussen, works cutting sugarcane, and his mother, Molina, takes care of the house and children.

Wilishon recently developed a case of tinea of the scalp. In addition to the unsightly appearance of the fungus and constant scratching that comes with it, the condition is also very contagious, keeping him away from school and friends.

Thankfully, a local mission clinic periodically hosts a “medical day” for the community, and a doctor was able to identify the condition and treat the fungus with ketoconazole cream that had been donated by MAP International.

“The well-timed donation of this effective ointment brought great relief

to the boy and his parents, who had no means of purchasing any medication on their own,” a clinic representative

“He has regained the freedom to attend school and be a kid again, without any anxiety or trepidation, and the family is truly grateful for that.”
