IDP AND BUDGET TABLED FOR COMMUNITY CONSULTATION!
ON April 28, 2016 the budget for the City of Ekurhuleni will be tabled for approval - it will be the last budget tabled for the 2011-2016 term of office. In line with section 16 of the Municipal Financial Management Act, the draft IDP (Integrated Development Plan) and Budget for the City's 2016/17 - 2018/19 financial period has been tabled for noting by Council. The IDP is a process through which municipalities prepare a strategic development plan which extends over a five-year period. It includes the planning, budgeting, resource allocation and decisionmaking processes within the municipality. It also includes the public participation process.
BACK TO THE PEOPLE: Gauteng Premier, David Makhura leading the procession at the 2016 State of the Province Address in Sebokeng, Sedibeng District. The Gauteng Provincial Legislature officially held its first sitting for this year at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex, where the Premier delivered his keynote, following up on Government’s commitments to the people. Dignitaries from all spheres of the State, ambassadors and guests from around the World attended the SOPA on February 22.

This means that members of the public and other interested stakeholders have the chance to comment on the City's draft 2016/17 - 2018/19 IDP and 2016/17 - 2018/19 municipal budget.
To do this, copies of the draft IDP and Budget can be viewed at all pay points and public libraries within the Ekurhuleni areas, or can be viewed on the City's website - www. ekurhuleni.gov.za. Any interested parties can comment on the documents by: *Completing a comments form at any of the points where the documents are available for viewing; *Filling in the form electronically on the website; or *Email comments to Budgettips@ ekurhuleni.gov.za The Budget Tips campaign runs from 1 - 31 March 2016. During this month of the Budget Tips campaign public meetings will be held in all customer care areas across the City where the proposed IDP and budget will be presented. Members of the public will have the opportunity to engage with the City at these meetings as well as make comments on the proposed budget.
