Lesedi open the Customer Care Service Centre!

Lesedi Local Municipality executive mayor Cllr. Lerato Maloka officially opened the Lesedi Customer Care Services Centre (CCSC), a fully-fledged facility will be a one stop shop walk-in centre for the residents and information seekers. The CCSC is located at the Heidelberg Town Hall, fitted with Lesedi enquiry helpdesk, a call centre, self-service computer kiosks with access to Government related services and information. This facility will provide to walk-in access for residents a wide range of customer services such as, launching queries, complaints reporting, simple enquiries like “account balance”, and all cases reported will be registered in a Case Management System, attended to immediately and be dispatched to relevant department for attention. For quality purposes citizens will be provided with a reference number for following up. The CCSC is also a WiFi access for easy and fast connection to the World Wide Web. The computers have been fitted with Gauteng e-Government electronic-services that provide the following: • Lesedi e-Statement • E-Recruitment including jobs advertised by Lesedi Municipality. Currently, 795 Lesedi Citizens are registered on the e-Recruitment platform. • Tshepo 1 Million Youth (Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Skills) matching and placement • School admissions system • Application for liquor license with the liquor board • ICT township start-up to register small township ICT companies • Gauteng Police complaints logging • Gauteng e-Tenders • Central supplier database registration and more.

The mayor made the announcement on her 2017/18 State of The Municipality Address, that the municipality plans to build a fully-fledged Customer Care Services Centre which will expand the functions of the existing municipal call center. Speaking at the official opening of the CCSC, Cllr. Maloka highlighted the the following characteristics of good customer service for Lesedi staff: Promptness, Politeness, Professionalism, Personalization. “For customers are very comfortable doing business with whom they know on a personal level. According to Lesedi, the CCSC was funded under Tirelo Bosha which is a Public Service Improvement Facility developed by the Department of Public Service and Administration in partnership with the Kingdom of Belgium.
