WHO WE ARE
A
fter 20 years of professional practice in the legal field and 5 years of running a company that promoted quality Italian wine abroad, Costanza Lega and her long-time friend, Manuela Bravi, expert in communication and relations institutions, with a long career in the political world, have asked themselves a question: how can we do to make internationally known, the wonderful quality wines, so different from region to region (more than 400 native grape varieties, against 230 of France, which make us the only country in the world in terms of vitivinicultural biodiversity) and produced in most cases by small family businesses?
BRIEF INTRODUCTION • In Italy only 16 wineries (between cooperatives and companies) produce 2.84 billion worth of wine sales, more than 21% of the total national turnover which is around 13 billion euro. The remaining 80% is left in the hands of small or micro cellars (more than 55,000 wineries, of which 80% produce less than 10,000 bottles!) • It should also be considered that in the exports of the 16 wineries mentioned for a turnover of 1.89 billion euros (over 65% of their sales), the realities such as Caviro and GIV do not deal with quality in terms of identity of the territory in respect of the native varietals of which Italy is so rich. • With these data it is clear that it is impossible for the largest number of companies to efficiently penetrate foreign markets, which increasingly appreciate the quality of our productions, but in need of high quantities of product and continuity in quality.

• From this first analysis and our desire to transmit and narrate the FINE WINE and MADE ITALY the idea of this project is born, which we can summarize in some essential points: • Creating wines at the third wine cellars participating in the project, with the collaboration of oenologists and agronomists who are experts in the production of quality products and of the territory respecting the autochthonous varieties • Collaborate with companies to standardize the quality levels and processing methods of the land and the grapes and wines in the cellar with the aim of increasing the production quantity of the single label also through the collaboration of several wineries. • Create labels with the best designers in Europe • Combining a strong brand that expresses Italy also in other business sectors such as excellence in the world. Think of fashion or the automotive world. • Close agreements with operators accredited in emerging markets that can appreciate the quality of Italian wine relying on quantity of product suitable for marketing in their vast countries. • Keep a final price of our products that come out of Italy at an average of 5 euros, so as to ensure a final price perfectly palatable for the different targets of buyers that statistics and recent monitoring seem absolutely willing to spend for a sensory experience of quality products connoting the territory of our wonderful country.
