I am a Professional Architect (SACAP), passionate designer and part time Lecturer looking for position in a design focused Architectural/design practice where I can further develop and refine my skills, experience, and knowledge.

Since graduating from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) with a Master’s degree in Architecture (MTech Prof, 2012) I have worked on several architectural projects of varying scales and complexities. Ranging from upmarket residential dwellings to commercial and retail architecture & interior design.

I have also worked at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa as a part time lecturer and student tutor. Lecturing undergraduate students (1st, 2nd & 3rd year) in the subjects of Architectural Design as well as Construction technology & detailing.

In recent years I have been specializing in Brand Space Architecture. By Integrating design research, strategic input, brand identity as well as creativity and industry know how, I have successfully designed and executed several projects for local and International companies. Creating spaces/ environments that maximize their brands'expression, visibility, and customer experience.

Having worked extensively across Africa namely, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. My goals are now firmly set on expanding my horizons and experience beyond the African continent.

All work is to be done in accordance with the National building Regulations.

All materials and workmanship are to comply with the relevant S.A.B.S. codes and or the specified international codes where applicable in the Architectural specifications.

Where relevant South African National Standards, British Standards, BS codes of practice, or Agrément Certificates applicable to the design exists, the recommendations and requirements of such documents to be considered a minimum standard for the works.

The contractor shall in all aspects of the works comply with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993) and any regulations promulgated in terms of that Act or the Factories Machinery and Building Works Act of 1941.

The contractor shall set up, document and maintain a quality assurance and quality control system, in accordance with SANS 9001/ISO 9001, able to be checked to the satisfaction of the Architect, that all materials and workmanship, whatever their sources, meet the requirements of the Specification. Should the Contractor or any of his sub-contractors be certified to the SANS 9000 family of standards then monitor these works accordingly.

This drawing must be read in conjunction with all the relevant drawings, schedules and specifications from the architect and all other consultants related to the project.

All portions of the works related to any service or consultant’s information is to be done in accordance with the National Building Regulations.

The brief was to design a upmarket energy efficient yet modern home family for a young couple in Johannesburg, South Africa. The house was designed along a long linear line ensuring all four of the bedrooms enjoy the breathtaking views of the dam and nature reserve. The mono pitched roofs gesture up toward the view up the rooms to the view and maximising the amount of light entering the rooms.

The earthy material palette gave way to the use of exposed concrete, timber

efficient yet modern home family for a

This sleek mono pitched house was built on

the banks of the beautiful Roodeplaat dam

Changing urban visions in Marshalltown

Masters Dissertation | Mixed use Development| Urban Design My masters dissertation is an attempt at changing the urban visions of the inner- city of Johannesburg, in particular Marshalltown. Through the generation of a new urban network/transport orientated development (T.O.D), within the inner- city, the underlying aim of this thesis is to enhance the inner- city of Johannesburg and to promote a more sustainable way of life for it’s current and future residents.

This dissertation is an urban regeneration project which re-appropriates existing building stock within the inner city, in hope of promoting Marshalltown as a vibrant, safe, liveable, dynamic and sustainable environment.

This dissertation attempts to intriduce A compact city approach, which promotes high density, mixed use development, public transport and community living. The proposed architectural intervention for this dissertation deals with the reappropriation of an existing auto and general shop situated on Anderson Street, Marshalltown,andconvertsitintoamixed-usebuildingwhichaims to improve and enhance the quality of life within the precinct.
