After School starts Fall 2020 with bus pickup from select schools followed by fun & games at the MAC until 6 PM. We’ll cover homework and snack time, play games to burn off steam, and keep everyone happy and entertained. For students K-4 at Erma Nash, Annette Perry, Alice Ponder, Martha Reid, JL Boren, Willie Brown, Elizabeth Smith, Judy Miller and Cora Spencer Elementary Schools.

Spaces are limited. See website for details. Fall Semester includes each regularly scheduled school day from dismissal until 6 PM. $200/month per child; sibling discount available.

AFTER DARK (6-12Y) Enjoy a night out while the kids come play with us! Drop your kids off at the MAC where we’ll have a movie, meal, open gym, crafts, concessions and more! $2 off for siblings, $1 off for MAC members.

NEW Freshwater Ecology (5-14Y) Streams and ponds provide habitat for a wide variety of interesting organisms. Students will learn about the different types of freshwater ecosystems and how the inhabitants of these bodies of water interact with each other. Live animals will help us learn about freshwater habitats right here in Texas! We hope students will have a newfound interest in these very intricate ecosystems and be inspired to do their part to keep these areas clean and healthy.

Take a break from the world and get on the water! Enjoy a scenic paddle in dual-seated kayaks looking for wildlife and plants with a naturalist. Age 7-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Save $7 if you bring your own kayak, PFD & paddle.

Bring your furry four-legged friend to our new Bark Ranger class. We will talk about trail safety and etiquette for pets, create a memory keepsake and hike around Oliver Nature Park. After completing the class, your pet will receive a certificate, honorary Bark Ranger dog tag and collapsible food bowl with treats. Dogs must be on a leash. 1 dog per registered person. Current rabies certificate required.

The pups are back and ready for a new challenge! Our popular Barks & Rec program, which pairs participants with shelter dogs, is returning for fall and heading to the trails. Sign up to take a hike through Oliver Nature Park and bring a dog from Mansfield’s Animal Care and Control shelter along to check out the woods and fields alongside you! This is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy together!

Family City Campout (All Ages) Let’s go camping! Bring your family to a community-wide campout at McClendon Park East that includes a space to pitch your tent, guided nature walks, nocturnal animal lessons, dinner and an interactive scavenger hunt. Holiday at the Arboretum (55Y+) Holiday at the Arboretum features the magnificent The 12 Days of Christmas outdoor exhibit, as well as 500,000 lights throughout the garden at night, trimming the architecture of the historic homes and lighting the canopies overhead including a 30-foot-tall tree at the center of the property. Fee is for transportation only.
