mann’s opinion

This month has been full of exciting happenings, and as always I am thrilled to share them all with you here. Recently, I had the honor of attending a party held by Peter Thomas Roth in honor of his mother, Carole Roth’s, 100th birthday. The event was held at The Temple House in Miami, and where we took off on a virtual airplane and enjoyed drinks, dining and entertainment all around the world. The event was a truly special occasion, and the relationship I’ve formed with Peter and his family warms my heart.

We have also received tremendous feedback from our readers about the content that Peter provides for us. Peter’s monthly articles in our magazine dive into all of the latest trends in the world of skincare, and it’s our pleasure to share his expertise with all of you. Peter is truly on the cutting edge of the industry, and we are all looking forward to his continued advice.

Another category we have continuously seen increasing in popularity is travel. After the isolations we all experienced during the darkest days of the pandemic, it’s exciting to see travel bouncing back and becoming better than ever. Due to the increased popularity of the travel category, we are happy to welcome a new addition to our team, Alexis Doerfler, as our Contributing Travel Editor. Alexis’ company, The Destination Designer, offers travelers expert planning and personalized itineraries to ensure they have the trip of their dreams. Going forward, we can’t wait to share her reccomendations and expert advice with all of you.

Speaking of new additions, we are also excited to bring in renowned drama critic Robert Massimi to expand our theater section. Each month, Robert will be breaking down some of the hottest new Broadway shows for us, the first of which you can read in this issue.

As many of you may already know, I am also an avid golfer, and I am always keeping an eye on the latest happenings in the world of golf. I even recently had the honor to play at The Grove XXIII, Michael Jordan’s exclusive, state-of-the-art golf club. One especially exciting update in the golf world is the unveiling of the re-designed Old Course at Broken Sound Club in South Florida. This longawaited redesign was spearheaded by world-renowned golf course Architect Rees Jones, and the results are very exciting. If you love golf as much as I do, be sure to read about all the details in this issue.

At Mann About Town, we always aim to offer informative, exciting articles that keep you on the cutting edge of fashion, dining, wellness, real estate and more. We are looking forward to continuing to bring you the best lifestyle content out there throughout 2023.

Peter Thomas Roth Celebrates Mother Carole’s 100th Birthday with All-Out Miami Bash

Sharon Stone’s painting “Labyrinth,” which graced the invitation and press release of her painting debut at Allosche Gallery in Los Angeles, was purchased by Peter Thomas Roth for his mother Carole’s 100th birthday. Peter presented the painting to his mother on her birthday, and it now hangs in Carole’s Bal Harbour penthouse. Carole has modeled for Peter on QVC since 2020, and now at 100, she is taking modeling to the next level with a new video debut of her applying Peter’s Retinol Fusion PM product on QVC on April 4. Peter Thomas Roth has sold over a million bottles of the mega size of the product in the last three years with Carole as its model. Martina Navratilova and her wife Julia Lemigova, and Denise Rich and her boyfriend Peter Cervinka and his son Franz Cervinka were among those that sang Carole a happy 100th when a group of topless Chippendale dancers rolled out her giant 8-layer, 24-carat gold cake. Peter went all out with a wild party for 200 people that featured entertainment from 9 cities including Budapest, Paris, Las Vegas and even Chinese dragons from Beijing at The Temple House in South Beach. Singer Fernando Allende also debuted his brandnew song “Un Millón de Besos” and its video at the party. It was a blowout party; the dress code was sequins and diamonds, and as Peter said on the invite, “Darling! You are only 100 once, so better to wear it than keep it in the vault,” and they all did!

PROSTATE CANCER FOUNDATION’S PALM BEACH GALA DINNER TO KICK OFF ANNUAL PRO-AM TENNIS & GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) hosted its annual Pro-Am Tennis & Golf Tournament in South Florida. The tournaments were part of a five-day event that combines the 2023 Milken Institute South Florida Dialogues and annual Pro-Am Tournaments. 2023 is a double anniversary for the PCF as it was both the 25th anniversary of the PCF in Palm Beach and the 30th anniversary year of the Foundation itself.

The Milken Institute South Florida Dialogues in Palm Beach took place over three days, which included the annual PCF Pro-Am Tennis Tournament and special golf tournament, and concluded with three days of events in Miami. The fi rst night in Palm Beach saw a talk held at the home of Roxann Taylor before the PCF dinner at the home of Jeff and Mei Sze Greene. The highlight of the second day was the Gala Dinner hosted by Howard and Wendy Cox and held at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium with entertainment by The Beach Boys. The Cox Science Center has educated some 10 million young minds in STEM during its sixty years of operation with a new expansion and aquarium due to open in 2026.

Some notable attendees included: Mike Milken, Howard Cox, Rob and Cindy Citrone, Bill Koch, Jeff and Mei Sze Greene, Ahmed Reza, Ameena Reza, Elaine Chao, Ginger Feuer Leeds, Larry Leeds, Bonnie Pfeifer Evans, Don and Katrina Peebles, Alicia Dahill, Herbie Wertheim, Jim Coleman, Kristin Snyder, Eddie Trump, Dr. Charles J. Ryan, Frank Luntz, George Norcross, Dean and Marianne Metropoulos, Francine LeFrak, Lew and Kathleen Crampton, Neil Bluhm, Jim Gordon,

Sponsors and Hosts for the Palm Beach event included: Howard and Wendy Cox, Chuck and Theresa Davidson, Jeff and Mei Sze Greene, Joe and Michelle Jacobs, Sonia and Paul Tudor Jones, William I. Guests were invited to attend a variety of salons on topics similar to those covered at the Global Conference, but in much smaller, more intimate landmark settings and stunning private homes. Guests were able to attend more than 20 sessions with over 120 interesting panelists.

All proceeds from the PCF Pro-Am Tennis Tournament and the Golf Tournament funded PCF’s promising and innovative research efforts for the prevention, detection and treatment of prostate cancer, and to help extend and improve the lives of all cancer patients:

• Young Investigators: PCF has launched and supported the careers of more than 500 scientists whose work has led to 15 new FDAapproved treatments. Since the creation of the PCF some 2,000 young investigator awards have been made and their work has led to four Nobel prizes in Medicine.

• VA Partnership: providing best-in-care treatments for our U.S. veterans

• Team Science: PCF Challenge Award Teams continue to produce scientific breakthroughs and serve as role models for other diseasespecific foundations.

• The Cutting Edge of Research: By focusing on immunotherapy, the microbiome and nutrition science, discoveries in PCF-funded research have been highly leveraged in diagnosing and treating more than 70 other cancers.

• Precision Medicine: PCF helps identify the right treatment for the right patient at the right time, and may be at the heart of solving the mystery of cancer. The newest, largest initiative TACTICAL (Therapy Acceleration To Intercept Cancer Lethality), aims to provide awards of up to $10 million over three years, to support large-scale research projects led by qualified teams of academic scientists that specifically address the development of 21st century therapies for lethal forms of prostate cancer.

Coach Unveils “In My Tabby” Campaign

Coach has unveiled “In My Tabby,” a campaign that celebrates the defining moments that make us who we are, featuring the brand’s iconic silhouette, the Tabby bag. Directed and photographed by Charlotte Wales, the campaign underscores the message that what we carry makes us stronger through the personal narratives of the Coach Family, including Lil Nas X, Camila Mendes, Kōki, and Wu JinYan. “In My Tabby” tells these stories through the lens of identity, constant evolution, and the journeys of the cast to become all of who they are today.

Reimagining and disrupting the popular “What’s In My Bag” phenomenon, the campaign redefines what we carry not just in terms of physical objects, but emotions—the experiences, personal journeys and aspirations that shape who we are— that we carry with us as we continue to create ourselves. In the films, Lil Nas X explores his future creative aspirations, Camila Mendes shares her story of embracing her multiple selves as a Brazilian-American actress, Kōki sheds light on trying new paths in life and Wu JinYan discusses turning career challenges into opportunities. Stories of courage that are both authentic and accessible, these journeys capture the emotional message of self-creation central to “In My Tabby”—to inspire audiences to express and explore all of who they are. The campaign also powerfully redefines fashion as a platform to tell human stories, and bags as symbols for something much more meaningful than style or status.

At the center of the story sits the Coach Tabby, a modern icon the house has reimagined for the next generation’s spirit of individualism, fluidity and courageous self-expression. Envisioned by Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers as a reimagination of an archival bag from the ‘70s and featuring Coach’s Signature hardware, the Tabby captures the brand’s quintessential American design language of character and craftsmanship for a new generation. Explored in recent years in a multitude of aesthetic iterations, the Tabby has also garnered cultural resonance through TikTok, where it gained a cult following.

“I’ve always believed that fashion should be about more than only style, it should be about community, and creating safe spaces where people feel free to express themselves,” said Vevers. “’In My Tabby’ brings together our Coach Family and collaborators to celebrate stories of creativity and courage that embody our vision for Coach to inspire people to fully express all of who they are.”

“A Doll’s House,” An Empty House

In what is a bare minimalist set, before the show, the year 1879 was projected on the backdrop of the stage. This ended up being very odd because this Ibsen rendition was very modern. I would think that in Amy Herzog’s adaptation, she would try to take the bygone era out of the equation. Equally confusing is the direction of Jamie Lloyd. As a modern “Doll’s House,” we get only a bare stage with a turntable set. Characters are spun to the forefront as they address the audience. For the most part, the actors are sitting throughout the one hour and 50-minute intermission-less production.

For the modern theater lover, this production is welcoming. It has two terrific actors in Nora, played by Jessica Chastain from “Molly’s Game,” and Torvald, played by Arian Moayed from “Succession.” The dress is modern, courtesy of Enver Chakartash and Soutra Gilmour, as is the vernacular throughout. The sound design is hip, courtesy of Ben and Max Ringham, and the lighting is in the noir genre. The actors are brought into the modern age and Herzog captures that very well.

In the strict sense of classic theater, this “Doll’s House” has some flaws. The bare stage with only exposed pipes and black and white walls leaves the audience always wondering where the play stands during the performance. With no scenery, many times we are perplexed by where the actors are staged and at what period of the play they are staged in. Furthering the difficulty is the lighting design by Jon Clark; he drops the lights so low halfway through the performance that, coupled with the low tone of the actors, makes it difficult at times to stay awake.

As Nora, Jessica Chastain puts on a great performance; she resonates and captures the pain of a young woman who is strong and protective. While Arian Moayed is very good on stage, his Torvald has changed dramatically from the original book. He is too sensitive, too indecisive and appears weaker than in the original book by Ibsen. The other major difference between this play and the book is how Dr. Rank, played by Michael Patrick Thornton, was portrayed. The doctor in the book was much more forceful; the love of Nora went way beyond what Herzog would have the audience believe in this production.

At the Hudson Theatre one thing is for certain, this rendition of “A Doll’s House” will either be loved or hated depending on if you like more modern theater or more traditional performances.

H&M U.S. Launches “H&M Pre-Loved” Powered By Thredup

H&M U.S. is helping garments gain a second life with its very first resale business model in the U.S. through ThredUP’s Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS).

“H&M Pre-Loved” offers customers an easy way to find the perfect secondhand pieces for their wardrobe, ready to be loved again and again. The new shop also continues the retailer’s sustainability mission of establishing circular business models for itself and its customers.

“With our new “H&M Pre-Loved” resale shop powered by ThredUP’s Resale-as-a-Service, we’re ensuring customers can find the largest amount of stylish, preloved H&M pieces ever to give them a second life,” said Abigail Kammerzell, head of sustainability, H&M North America. “We need to take responsibility for the impact fashion has on climate and the environment. Circular business models can help

us reduce and limit this negative impact while continuing to deliver fashion and style for our customers. With the launch of our first resale model in the U.S. market, we’re taking the next big step in that direction.”

Customers can access the “H&M Pre-Loved” shop at hm.thredup.com starting March 14, 2023. Garments are organized into several smaller sub-shops of familiar H&M concepts including “&Denim,” “Sport,” “Ladies,” “Divided” and “Kids.” Probably most exciting to fans of the brand will be the “Collabs” subshop, featuring pieces from the retailer’s many celebrated collaborations and guest designer lines from years past.

“We’re thrilled that H&M has chosen to partner with ThredUP to debut their first resale program in the U.S., building on their global momentum investing in new circular business models,” said James Reinhart, CEO and

co-founder of ThredUP. “As one of the largest retailers in the world, H&M’s impact potential is tremendous, and we are pleased that ThredUP’s Resale-as-a-Service is powering a scalable resale program to reach H&M’s customers in a new and sustainable way.”

H&M believes new ways of doing business need to be developed and implemented to make sure products are used more and for longer. Traditionally, fashion has followed a linear business model – take, make, discard. Circular business models, such as “H&M Pre-Loved” powered by ThredUP’s RaaS, the brand’s garment collecting program enacted in 2013, as well as H&M Take Care, a digital hub at hm.com where customers can get tips and tricks on how to prolong and take care of their fashion, break this chain to keep garments in use longer and to make sure those valuable resources are being maximized.

NEIMAN MARCUS EXPANDS TO NEW CATEGORIES, OFFERING EXCLUSIVE PRODUCT AND IN-STORE ACTIVATIONS WITH FERRAGAMO FOR LUXURY CUSTOMERS

Neiman Marcus, in partnership with Ferragamo, announces the addition of the women’s ready-to-wear category concurrently with the luxury fashion house’s debut collection from new Creative Director Maximilian Davis.

A testament to the strength of Neiman Marcus’ brand partner relationships, Ferragamo will activate in-store moments, customer experiences and offer an exclusive product to revolutionize luxury experiences for Neiman Marcus’ customers. Seven stores across the country will host pop-up installations and feature store windows and visual displays that bring Ferragamo’s new and unmistakable red Pantone color across varying interpretations. The shoppable installations showcase items in vitrines, which are filled with sand dyed in Ferragamo red.

“Our customers come to us for extraordinary experiences, and we are excited to partner with Ferragamo on this unique expression of their brand that comes to life through activations and

exclusive product offerings as part of our strategy,” said Lana Todorovich, chief merchandising officer, Neiman Marcus. “As a global leader in the luxury industry, Ferragamo is one of our longstanding brand partners and it’s exciting to see Maximilan’s new creative direction for the house. We believe our customers will be instantly drawn to this playful and elegant collection across multiple categories.”

The relationship between Neiman Marcus and Ferragamo dates back over 50 years. Through the category expansion, Neiman Marcus will have six exclusive men’s and women’s looks from the Spring/Summer 23 collection, and a selection of wholesale exclusive handbags.

“We have an incredible history with Neiman Marcus,” said Daniella Vitale, CEO of Americas. “Our founder, Salvatore Ferragamo won the Neiman Marcus Award in 1947, followed by his daughter Fiamma Ferragamo in 1967. They have long held a unique position in luxury with a loyal client and excellent customer service. With deep roots between us, we are thrilled to partner with Neiman Marcus in a way that brings Ferragamo

into the future and is reflective of the brand’s new modern look under the creative direction of Maximilian Davis.”

Davis’ debut collection shows his fresh vision for the house, which recontextualizes–for the modern era–Ferragamo’s longstanding relationship with Hollywood. The collection is imbued with an atmosphere of ease and sensuality, thematically tying the idea of a sunrise’s symbolic clean slate to a sunset’s glowing familiarity.

“The sand relates to Ferragamo, to Hollywood, to the ocean – but also to me, and to my own DNA,” explained Davis. “To what the sea means to Caribbean culture: a place where you can go to reflect and feel at one. I wanted to show that perspective, but now through the Ferragamo lens.”

The collection is now available in select stores across the country and online at NeimanMarcus. com. Neiman Marcus customers can discover exclusive access, world-class service and one-of-akind experiences both online and in person, and explore private shopping appointments with expert style advisors.

Casa Tulum Opens in South Street Seaport

If Casa Tulum, from Managing Partner Luis Villanueva and Chef/Partner Rodrigo Abrajan (El Paso NYC), is a stylish Mexican restaurant designed to elicit the feel of a luxurious Tulum beach house. Opened in the South Street Seaport this past December, Casa Tulum’s menu focuses on the best seafood dishes from across Mexico with a heavy emphasis on the Seafood Bar, tacos and authentic signature dishes from Tulum and the Yucatan Peninsula.

Casa Tulum is the downtown debut for Chef Rodrigo, who achieved neighborhood acclaim in Harlem with his El Paso Taqueria restaurants. The first opened in 1993 as a taco cart on the corner of Third Avenue and East 104th Street in East Harlem, eventually growing to three sit-down locations, always lauded as one of the best restaurants in East Harlem by the media and locals alike.

After 30 years as a staple in El Barrio’s food scene, he is bringing his authentic and flavorful cuisine to a new audience with updated presentations to match the new location. For Casa Tulum, Chef Rodrigo has created a concise menu marrying the cuisine of Tulum and Mexico’s coastal cities with the history of the seaport. Originally from Puebla, he has traveled the country learning and perfecting his recipes to create truly authentic Mexican cuisine.

Neatly divided into three sections, the menu begins with a Seafood Bar, featuring: Aguachile Tulum, a dish that allows its distinct layers of flavor to develop on the diners’ palate with each bite, made with raw and cooked shrimp, octopus, cherry stone clams, fresh lime juice, a blend of seven fresh and dry chili peppers, red onions, cucumbers and avocado and Lobster Ceviche, Maine Lobster citrus cured with passion fruit, lychee and mango, arbol chili and pomegranate seeds, served with baked multigrain tostadas.

The Taqueria section follows, displaying updated versions of the very food that gave Chef Rodrigo his start in New York, including Baja Fish, tempura white fish of the day with cabbage, avocado, Pico de Gallo and habanero aioli; Governador, shrimp and steak with gratinated chihuahua cheese and chiltepin-tomato salsa in a hand pressed

tortilla and classic Al Pastor, achiote marinated pork with roasted pineapple, pickled onion, fresh cilantro and guajillo salsa.

Platos Fuertes, or main dishes, highlight: Cochinita Pibil, a specialty of the Yucatan Peninsula consisting of pork shoulder slow roasted in banana leaves with achiote paste, cured lime, onion, habanero chili tatemado and flour tortillas; Branzino Annato-Guajillo, broiled butterflied whole branzino Zarandeado style with butter and sour orange and Pollo Borracho, pan-seared semi-boneless half chicken in a Negra Modelo butter reduction with cremini mushrooms.

The menu also features house-made guacamole for the table in two options: King Guacamole made of avocado, jicama, red onions and habanero peppers topped with crab meat and Guacamole, avocado, onion, cilantro, tomato, serrano chilies and totopos, a flat triangular chip similar to a tortilla.

The Beverage Program was designed by Luis Villanueva, who previously designed the cocktail menus at Havana Alma de Cuba, Cuba, La Pulperia and worked at Astoria’s Blend on the Water for three years. His cocktails are inspired by the natural beauty found all along the Mexican coastline, expressed through seasonal ingredients and spices to pair with Chef Rodrigo’s cuisine. Cocktail highlights include: El Chingon; silver tequila, tamarind, serrano peppers, agave nectar, chipotle and habanero sea salt; Oaxacan Negroni, Mezcal Joven, Antica Formula Vermouth, Campari and tangerine oils and The Gold Digger, Clase Azul Añejo Tequila, Grand Mariner Cuvee Louis Alexandre, yuzu, organic blue agave nectar, 24 karat edible gold and hickory campfire sea salt served in a souvenir glass.

The restaurant’s interior resembles a Tulum beach resort, featuring notes of earth tones of white and beige accented by live plants hanging above the bar and throughout the space creating a serene, tropical feel. Chocolate-colored leather chairs and banquets designed for comfort and aesthetics complement the natural wood tones on the tables and throughout the restaurant. At the center is a large cocktail bar, and ample seating throughout the space creates the ideal environment to enjoy Chef Rodrigo’s authentic Mexican cuisine.

Duomo 51 Debuts to Bring Tuscan Cuisine Overlooking Rockefeller Center

Duomo 51, Italian for “Cathedral,” is a new Tuscan restaurant from the Ramerino Italian Prime team in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The restaurant is tucked away on the seventh floor of the DoubleTree Hotel directly across the street from Rockefeller Center. The elevator opens to an expansive dining room that leads into the glass-enclosed terrace that is more causal and offers sweeping views of Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral where guests can enjoy a snack, cocktail or a full meal. The terrace features a retractable roof that will be open during the warm weather months and will include an outdoor cocktail bar. Duomo 51 offers elegant private event spaces with many different attractive setups based on the size of the party and occasion.

The Tuscan-Italian menu by Executive Chef Vilfrid Hodoj (Ramerino Italian Prime and La Giostra in Florence) showcases a modern interpretation of Tuscan dishes. The menu highlights signature handmade pastas that emphasize seasonal ingredients and showcase traditional dishes inspired by land and sea.

Duomo 51 offers a large selection of Antipasta, highlighting Gamberi al Brandy, grilled shrimp with cannellini beans, fresh tomatoes and cognac sauce; Caprese Invernale, roasted tomato, buffalo mozzarella and basil, with ursini olio novello; and Polpo alla Griglia, grilled octopus with chickpea cream and a dash of lemon juice to add a fresh, citrus taste; as well as a daily assortment of crostini that includes crostini with pesto, cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese.

Insalate and Zuppa provide guests with options like Barbabietola, a salad composed of baby spinach, beets, orange, gorgonzola cheese, toasted almonds and orange; and Vellutata di Pomodoro, San Marzano tomato soup with dollops of burrata and croutons.

The Pasta is headlined by Barone Rosso, Chef Vilfrid’s Tuscan specialty of rigatoni in a red pesto composed of tomato sauce with pine nuts and burrata cheese; among other selections are Tartufo, pappardelle with wild mushrooms, goat cheese, truffle oil and demi-glace; and Vongole, linguine with manilla clams, Italian red pepperoncino, gar-

lic confit, fresh parsley white wine sauce.

Entrees are broken up into Land, which includes Vitello Ai Funghi, veal scaloppine with wild mushrooms and brown sauce; Scallopina Di Pollo, chicken escalope with butter and lemon, artichoke hearts and capers; Fileto al Chianti, a filet mignon cooked in a red wine reduction; and Sea, which includes Dover Sole prepared tableside and Cartoccio alla Isolana, baked Italian orata fillet with zucchini, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, capers and olives in a white wine sauce.

Desserts include Cannoli Siciliani, with a ricotta-based filling, with sugar and cinnamon and Cheese Cake, a classic Italian cheesecake made with a ricotta base and topped with fresh strawberries.

The wine list is composed of selections largely from Italy and California by the glass and by the bottle with a focus on Tuscany, including Super Tuscan varieties. The cocktail program focuses on classic cocktails like Martinis, Manhattans and Old Fashioneds, made with premium ingredients.

Astral Tequila Celebrates the Spring Equinox with Two Radiant New Offerings: Astral Tequila Reposado and Astral Tequila Añejo

To celebrate the spring equinox, Astral Tequila is proud to announce the release of two new offerings: Astral Tequila Reposado and Astral Tequila Añejo. Infused with the harmonious energy of the sun and stars, these lustrous new expressions round out Astral Tequila’s super-premium collection, crafted with 100% Blue Weber agave and aged to perfection.

Aged for five months, three months longer than the industry standard, Astral Tequila Reposado is subtly sweet yet rich-tasting with notes of agave, caramel and oak. Astral’s Reposado is perfect for any cocktail including the brand’s signature Sun Beam Fizz, marrying the warmth of the tequila with flavors of bursting citrus.

Astral Tequila Añejo is aged for twelve months and radiates with warm notes of vanilla, oak and butterscotch, making the variant perfect to enjoy with friends neat, on the rocks, or as the main spirit to provide a delicious twist on unexpected classics such as the Astral Old Fashioned.

“We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Astral Tequila Reposado and Añejo to our portfolio, providing more ways to brighten cocktails while honoring our traditional distilling process to create quality, smoother-tasting tequilas,” said Christina Choi, senior vice president of tequila, Diageo North America. “These new variants also support our mission to uplift communities in Jalisco, Mexico by creating more bricks through our sustainability initiative, the Adobe Brick Project.”

Distilled in Jalisco, Mexico, the new iterations are aged in single-use American Oak bourbon barrels and follow the brand’s traditional production processes, featuring a unique milling process using the tahona, a stone wheel that crushes the juices from the agave fibers. Those crushed fibers, or bagazo, are then used in the fermentation process to make use of more of the agave plant. This technique is steeped in tradition, highlighting the true character and flavor of the agave to create a complex yet smooth tequila that is then aged to create Astral Tequila Reposado and Añejo.

Astral Tequila Reposado and Añejo will be available in California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, New York, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio and Virginia beginning April 1 wherever spirits are sold as well as online at retailers such as Drizly.com and ReserveBar.com for an SRP of $27.99 and $34.99 respectively. Kim Or Azulay

Israeli Actress, Model and Influencer Shares What’s Next Azulay

Photographer: Tal Abudi Stylists: Shalev Lavan Makeup: Liraz Fineman Hair: Fedor All photographs by Tal Abudi

Ever since Kim Or Azulay was a little girl, she dreamed of being in the spotlight. But her journey to getting there is a bit more unconventional than you might expect. As a young teen, Azulay first began to gain popularity online in Israel by blogging and posting on Instagram.

“Acting has always been my dream,” Azulay said. “I remember myself as a young child watching TV shows and telling myself ‘they are great, but I want to be in their spot.’ I’ve been auditioning for as long as I could remember, but my career started a bit differently. Instead of getting a role, I started using a new app at the time called Instagram. I soon became one of the first influencers in Israel, when no one really understood what I was doing at the time. And then luck was on my side.”

As she continued to gain popularity online, mainstream media finally began to catch up, and her career began to take off.

“With time I started to get positive responses to auditions and now I am working a lot,” Azulay said. “Within my current career, I have gotten the chance to take part in 14 TV series and three movies; I have started my own brand and even collaborated with global brands. I feel very lucky.”

One of Azulay’s most recent television projects is a role in the upcoming new season of the Israeli drama series “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem.”

“‘The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem’ was such a unique experience!” Azulay said. “Being a part of Season 2 when the cast all knew each other from Season 1 was intimidating at first. However, they welcomed me with open arms and a loving vibe. The role itself was special too. I play Amalia, who is a character of love. She will follow her heart no matter what and I really carried that over to my personal life as well.”

Currently, Azulay is also preparing for a spot on the upcoming season of the dance competition show “Dancing with the Stars Israel.”

“We just started rehearsals and it’s been exhausting!” Azulay said. “But, very satisfying and exciting all at once!”

Azulay will also be heading for the big screen, with a role in the feature film “Running in the Sand,” directed by Eder Shafran.

“‘Running in the Sand’ was definitely one of my favorite projects!” Azulay said. “Getting the experience to play a woman older than myself was amazing; being 20 and playing Neta, a 27-year-old, it really does take a lot to show the difference. I had to work on the inside of her personality to truly bring the character to life. I can’t wait to watch the results.”

While Azulay loves working on projects for both television and movies, experiencing the intricacies of filmmaking was especially fun for her.

“The difference between film and TV for me is timing,” Azulay said. “[For films], you spend so much more time filming every scene; it’s so intricate and amazing. You have time to think of every move. Time to try different angles and ways to act. I think because a film is on a big screen, and there are fewer scenes, every scene has to be perfect. The shooting, lighting and acting. Everything.”

In addition to her work as an actress, Azulay has also begun making a name for herself as a model, working with top international brands on their Israeli campaigns.

“Calvin Klein and Adidas have been family to me,” Azulay said. “[These are] brands that I have loved even before starting to work with them. Working with them is just a bonus. I feel like we have the same values and a lot of places to grow together.”

APRIL 2023 • MANN ABOUT TOWN 55 COVER FEATURE

While Azulay’s time in the spotlight keeps her quite busy, she always manages to find time to give back to causes she cares about.

“I believe that I need to bring back to the world all of the love and support [that I can],” Azulay said. “I’ve gotten the opportunity in life to influence [others], to change something in peoples’ lives just by being me. It’s a power that I must use for the best.”

This year Facebook (Meta) and Israeli aid organization Latet partnered with Azulay and other top Israeli social media influencers and content creators ahead of Israel’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Day to launch this year’s “Sharing Memories” (Ma’alim Zikaron in Hebrew) project, an initiative that connects young people to the testimonies of the Holocaust survivors living in Israel today.

“With Facebook and Holocaust Remembrance Day it’s [particularly] special,” Azulay said. “My great-grandmother, who passed away exactly a year ago (right when Holocaust Remembrance Day was over), was a Holocaust survivor. She was very close to me, and I miss her every day. I feel it’s my duty in life to tell her story on and on and the whole story of this terrible war. I can’t believe there are people doubting it. It happened and this story must be heard! I also volunteer for other charities such as Nirim and Make-A-Wish. Basically, every time I can do good, I’ll hop on.”

Having experienced such great success in her home country, Azulay is now looking to expand her career even further, to the United States and beyond.

“I’m very passionate about breaking into the US market,” Azulay said. “I want you to remember my name. I have such a big and different value to give you guys, to give to this market, and I really can’t wait for it to happen. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in front of [Mann About Town’s] audience. And I hope that they keep an eye out for me this year, as I am hoping to make waves in the US through various projects. I plan to continuously work hard to reach my goals and what I have been working on as I build my career.”

Azulay also hopes to inspire others like her to follow their wildest dreams.

“This is my message for you guys,” Azulay said. “Say it out loud. Scream it. Believe it. Believe in yourself and never give up. Dreams are made to be a reality. Work your way up and never give up. Whatever is yours will find its way to you.”

Going forward, Azulay continues to have big dreams of her own.

“My hope for the future is that I continue to work on projects and campaigns that not only push my acting and modeling but help me grow as a person,” Azulay said. “I have had the opportunity to work with some great brands and film/TV projects and want to continue that upward trajectory.”

The Vitamin C Skin Care Obsession

In recent years, Vitamin C consistently ranks as one of the top-searched skin care ingredients on the Internet. The query, “What does Vitamin C do for your skin?” dominates Google searches and everyone is clambering to get their Vitamin C fi x.

From brightening the look of dark spots to reducing the signs of aging, search results reveal that Vitamin C does quite a lot for your skin. As such, it’s no wonder this multi-benefit ingredient is winning over the Internet. However, more unclear is the answer to “why now?” Vitamin C is not a new ingredient and has been used in skin care formulations for years—why the current obsession?

To get the answer and learn more about this popular ingredient, we turned to skin care guru Peter Thomas Roth. An influential segment leader in the beauty industry, Roth’s eponymous skin care line is the number one privately-held prestige skin care brand in the USA. Known for creating breakthrough formulas that deliver astonishing results, Roth leads all research and development efforts at his state-of-the-art lab and manufacturing facility.

The latest product innovation to emerge from Roth’s lab is Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer, which is part of his Potent-C collection—a customer favorite. Here, Roth talks about the science behind Potent-C and why Vitamin C, the key ingredient in this collection, is generating buzz.

Why is Vitamin C such a popular skin care ingredient now?

Vitamin C has been around for a while but is notoriously unstable. Due to the instability of traditional Vitamin C, formulas with this ingredient often become discolored and less effective over time. Fortunately, now there’s an alternative! My chemists and I pioneered the use of THD Ascorbate, an ultra-stable form of Vitamin C. As this scientific breakthrough ingredient becomes more widely used in skin care, people are seeing amazing results. Word is spreading like wildfi re and the popularity of Vitamin C is off the charts!

Tell us about your Potent-C collection. When my Potent-C collection launched several years ago, no one was talking about THD Ascorbate yet… but we knew we had a winner! This mega-potent form of Vitamin C is not only ultra-stable, but it’s also 50 times more powerful than traditional Vitamin C.

When searching for a Vitamin C product, what should people look for?

Make sure your skin care product has enough Vitamin C to make a noticeable difference! I always use the most effective active ingredients at the maximum strength possible. I put the ingredients and percentages on the front of my packaging in a big font so my customers know what they’re getting! Working with my chemists, I found that the most efficacious concentration of Vitamin C for leave-on products is 10% or higher, so my Potent-C leave-on products have at least that amount.

Why is Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer a great Vitamin C option?

My new Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer is packed with 10% THD Ascorbate Vitamin C and amplified with 3% Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid for the ultimate trifecta! The formula is clinically proven to improve the appearance of fi ne lines, wrinkles and skin tone for brighter, younger-looking skin.

What makes Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer unique?

My philosophy is simple: breakthrough formulas. Astonishing results. With my Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer, I really wanted to innovate and take things to the next level. My chemists and I researched ingredients from all over the world and discovered a cutting-edge Antioxidant Superfood Complex. Rich in Calcium, Zinc and Vitamins A, C and B3, this scientifically engineered complex combats the aging effects of environmental stress to help maintain and enhance brightening results. My Potent-C Brightening Vitamin C Moisturizer is supercharged with this ingredient and the results are fabulous!

You’re going to look gorgeous.

“Fountain of Youth”

HEALTH & WELLNESS
Photography by Callie Jones

During my first meeting with Dr. Rustamova, I noticed something special about her. And by the time we concluded our meeting, that special quality is her lack of interest in being the focal point. This native of the once-Soviet Republic of Uzbekistan brings an immense amount of experience that stretches beyond her medical training in Uzbekistan and the United States. With an insatiable appetite for learning and sharing her knowledge with others, her ripple effect is far and wide.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to hear the differences between practicing in her native homeland and the United States. “Uzbekistan was not as advanced technologically, so there was a reliance on all the senses and a need to be more versatile.” A benefit Dr. Rustamova shared, “You had to see the whole picture.” Connecting the dots, looking into details, organs, cells and DNA allowed for experiencing the whole being: physical, spiritual and psychological. In contrast, she has been amazed by the vast and structured system in the United States. The ever-expanding use of technology induces advances at an accelerated rate.

Whether traversing the halls of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York with colleagues or meeting with patients one on one, a consistent theme is “monitor your thought patterns.” Taking a look at how psychology works and how as physicians, we need to be stable. Noticing the spectrum of understanding by patients and practitioners, Dr. Rustamova honed her communication, ensuring that they could understand and have the tools to learn and be better. With great clarity and seamless delivery, she matches the approach to the patient, noting she can be a guide in the process or utilize traditional med therapy. What matters is that they are well taken care of and are empowered to heal.

The path to her current expression of work has been seeded by extensive travel around the world. Studying Ayurvedic medicine in India, the only place it is still honored and practiced, spending time in Nepal, Haiti, Costa Rica and Mexico highlighted ways cultures of varying history and philosophies interacted with the mind, body and spirit. A draw to ancient midwifery, learning from shamans and those who keenly understand collective consciousness further expanded ways to help others.

It was the many years of delivering babies that cata-

lyzed Dr. Rustamova’s yearning to reach beyond the ceiling and expand awareness and avenues to treat the whole person. In traveling the world, immersing in different cultures, reading and exploring spiritual work, she expressed, “The deeper I went, I found it to be infinite.” The more Rustamova unearthed, the more she didn’t know. Shifting her practice to draw upon ancient methods equipped her to utilize a wide array of modalities. One such instrument is plant medicine and not from a numbing or “using” approach but one that respects the traditions and is carefully facilitated by and through those carrying forth the ancient tradition.

What drives this physician, educator and healer is a deep desire to contribute and communicate the importance of being connected to ourselves, those around us and the planet we occupy. Like the earth, which is made up of 75% - 80% water, so are we. Once we are aware of our thought patterns and what our body is communicating to us, we have a map to improve the whole system. The melding of cultures, curiosity and training has synthesized her unique approach to helping many.

How a Bespoke Family Business is Transforming Travel

With the spring and summer vacation season approaching, Alexis Doerfler of The Destination Designer brings a distinctive philosophy and a fresh perspective to the bespoke travel industry.

The Destination Designer, founded by Doerfler in 2016, is the culmination of years of travel industry experience and a growing frustration with travel providers purporting to be experts but often failing to deliver authentic and unique travel experiences. As an account manager for one of the world’s largest travel conglomerates, Doerfler saw a gap in the industry. “It felt soulless,” she recounted. Unfulfilled and frustrated sitting behind a desk, Doerfler, the daughter of a flight attendant with wanderlust in her blood, left the corporate world and relocated to Italy.

Inspired by her passion for travel, she enrolled in a language program in Puglia and became fluent in Italian. Settling in Rome, Doerfler began exploring Europe extensively. Influenced by the cultures she encountered and the locations she visited, Doerfler was driven to redefine how we explore the world. Simultaneously, the scandal of false and misleading reviews on popular online sites erupted, impacting travelers like herself, who could no longer rely on many of their go-to resources. Travelers now faced the overwhelming endeavor of sorting through a sea of misinformation, and “employing a traditional travel agent does not solve this problem. They often recommend destinations they have never been to and depend on the same unreliable information.” According to Doerfler, “our approach is going to change that.”

With a commitment to providing real expertise and transparency, The Destination Designer was born. The foundation of their service is delivering customized travel rooted in personal and firsthand knowledge. Doerfler asserted, “What makes us different: the Destination Designer scouts each location we serve, vetting everything from hotels, restaurants and excursions before referring or recommending them to our clients.”

“We deliver specialized, immersive and rich experiences accessible at all price points,” she continued. “You do not need an unlimited budget to go on a family vacation or a fun girls trip. A luxury vacation does not necessarily mean the most expensive. Rather, luxury is defined by the values of each individual client. To get started, all it takes is a phone call.”

“The most vital part of creating an individualized experience is listening and appreciating each traveler’s needs and wants. A clear understanding of expectations allows the team to bring a perfectly curated itinerary to life.” Doerfler points to a recent multi-generational trip for sixteen. “We worked tirelessly to ensure there was something for everyone. The grandfather was an avid golfer, the group’s interests varied from history to wine and the kids were picky eaters. Our team made certain everyone was heard, and their needs met.” Another example is a couple celebrating their anniversary. “They first came to us after a disappointing experience with another agency that over-promised and under-delivered. We took on the task of reworking their itinerary, saving them precious time, avoiding doubling back on their route and incorporating more immersive activities they were initially looking for.”

Ours is not a corporate experience, we are there for our clients from beginning to end, and we love and take pride in what we do.”
Alexis Doerfler and Elizabeth Doerfler

The Destination Designer provides a comprehensive, full-service travel experience from logistical planning, airline and hotel bookings and dining reservations. Best-available or preferred rates are guaranteed and an array of exclusive amenities such as room upgrades, complimentary breakfast and welcome gifts are available. Through the individual relationships and professional partnerships that Doerfler has forged, her clients have exclusive access to an ever-expanding network of delicious dining options, reliable drivers and boat captains, expert guides, sommeliers, chefs and more. Most importantly, clients have complete visibility and control over where their budget is allocated. That means there are never any behind-the-scene mark-ups, fees or price adjustments that traditional travel agents or hotel concierges count on.

Not to mention, Doerfler is an expert at credit card point and mileage utilization, helping her clients save significant and valuable funds to apply toward more meaningful adventures. “We love using points for flight and hotel stays, which allows the savings to be used for more exciting activities, such as a private boat charter, wine tasting or upgrading their accommodations.”

With a personalized approach, clients can access their travel specialist far beyond the finalization of their itinerary, including 24-hour concierge assistance throughout their trip. “If a driver is late or a dinner reservation is missing, do not worry. Just reach out. Unsure of what to bring? We will help,” stated Doerfler. She even describes visiting the home of a nervous client to help her pack.

The Destination Designer is also a family-run business, setting it apart from the larger agencies. After pandemic restrictions were lifted, there was an unprecedented demand for travel. In fact, the term “revenge travel” was coined. As a result, The Destination Designer experienced an explosion of inquiries. Overwhelmed, Doerfler recognized that expansion was necessary to continue providing exceptional service to her clients. Often traveling with her aunt and close friend, Doerfler knew it would be a perfect partnership. An attorney by trade, Elizabeth Doerfler, a sophisticated traveler with an eye for detail, had left her fifteen-plus-year

legal career and shifted to a more creative space in event and floral design. While on a rooftop in Capri, enjoying an aperitivo, they decided that The Destination Designer could be even better together. “It is our mission to offer our clients the same priceless and memorable experiences that we enjoy when we travel, and we work diligently to ensure that each aspect of our client’s trip exceeds their expectations,” said Alexis Doerfler. “Ours is not a corporate experience, we are there for our clients from beginning to end, and we love and take pride in what we do.”

The Destination Designer’s mission is to transform how people travel by making exclusive, luxurious and authentic travel attainable for all. There is no one-size-fitsall when it comes to travel. Alexis Doerfler and her team’s dedication to providing real, insider knowledge, a commitment to transparency and their individualized approach are refreshing concepts that are transforming travel.

Royal Caribbean's Beach Club in the Bahamas Moves Forward for 2025 Opening

Royal Caribbean International, the world’s largest and most popular cruise line, is moving ahead with the development of the first Royal Beach Club after receiving approval from the government of The Bahamas. The 17-acre destination experience, coming to the western end of Paradise Island in The Bahamas, will combine the island’s striking beaches with the cruise line’s signature experiences to create the ultimate beach day –The Royal Beach Club at Paradise Island.

Crafted in close collaboration with the Bahamian government, the new project will feature a public-private partnership in which Bahamians will be invited to own up to 49% equity in the beach club. Local businesses and entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to manage the vast majority of the experience. Overall, the new venture will generate

hundreds of jobs across its construction and longterm operation.

“The Bahamas has been a phenomenal partner since the very start, when they became our first port of call more than 50 years ago,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “As we continue to bring millions of visitors to experience attractions throughout Nassau each year, The Royal Beach Club at Paradise Island is the next bold adventure in Royal Caribbean’s commitment to both increasing tourism in The Bahamas and delivering memorable vacations to our guests.”

Alongside private cabanas, stunning pools and more, the vibrant Bahamian spirit and culture will come to life throughout the world-class destination experience. Vacationers will be welcomed by local architecture that complements the exceptional views of

The Bahamas’ turquoise-blue waters and white sand beaches, along with experiences that feature Bahamian fare, island-style barbecues, live music and local artisans.

The beach club will be made up of 13 acres of land owned by the cruise line and four acres of Crown Land. The Crown Land will be contributed as equity in the new venture to ensure a share of the profits return to the government and the Bahamian people in a first-of-its-kind agreement in The Bahamas. This, in addition to a new tourism levy, will go into reinvesting in the local community. The collaboration between the government, the community and Royal Caribbean will continue as the development moves through the stages of planning and completion.

More details about The Royal Beach Club at Paradise Island, set to open in 2025, will be revealed in the coming months.

Gran Hotel Inglés in Madrid Celebrates the Life of One of The Country’s Most Pioneering Artists on the 50th Anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s Death

Fifty years after Pablo Picasso’s death, the spotlight is on Madrid as the capital prepares to host a series of events, exhibitions and activities throughout April, as part of a program put together by the Spanish and French governments to honor the artist’s life. The “Picasso 1973-2023 Celebration” will feature over 50 exhibitions to provide a historiographical analysis of the artist’s work.

Situated in an area famed for providing rich inspiration for some of Spain’s most notable creatives over centuries, the family-owned Gran Hotel Inglés is the oldest hotel in Madrid that opened its doors for the first time in 1886. Uniquely positioned in the heart of Madrid’s characterful Barrio de las Letras, it is also a stone’s throw from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Reina Sofia Museum and The Prado Museum, all of which will play host to celebratory exhibitions honoring Picasso this April. The Barrio de las Letras is one of Madrid’s most central neighborhoods; a dynamic, cultural melting pot studded with monuments. This area is where the city’s theaters opened in courtyards at the end of the 16th century, and where many giants of the

Golden Age of Spanish literature had their homes, including Cervantes, Lope de Vega, and Quevedo.

From April 1 to 10, 2023, Gran Hotel Inglés will celebrate the life of Pablo Picasso by offering all guests a complimentary guide through the city –“The Picasso Route” – a guided tour created by the hotel that visits 10 significant spots across the city, before concluding at the Reina Sofía Museum. These 10 locations represent the places where it is believed Picasso would have developed part of his creativity while enjoying the vibrant capital. To mark the momentous occasion, all guests staying over these dates will also receive a complimentary ticket to visit the Reina Sofía Museum during their stay, to see one of the artist’s most popular works, “Guernica.” A further nod to Picasso, throughout the hotel, visitors can also find “Did you know?” cards that feature stories and unique facts about the acclaimed artist.

The narrow streets that surround Gran Hotel Inglés are also steeped in history, lined with tapas bars, best-in-class restaurants and quirky shopping boutiques, with plenty to keep travelers busy. Be it for a cup of hot chocolate with churros in the Pla-

za del Ángel, a late evening visit to the old Botanic Gardens and to buy flowers at the oldest florist in Spain, or drinks and live music at Café Central, one of the best jazz clubs in the world – history lives in these streets, coined the birthplace of Spanish theater and the arts.

Inside the hotel, 48 rooms and suites have been designed with Art Deco features and luxe relaxation in mind, under the artistic direction of Rockwell Group. Rockwell Group brought back the glamor, elegance and innovation of the hotel, weaving original imagery and salvaged historic items into the design. The lobby ceiling has statement circular chandeliers and is inspired by a classic English manor, a has a central lobby bar is surrounded by a round cocktail lounge intended as a gathering spot for locals as much as for international visitors. Exquisite, traditional Madrid food is served in the lobby bar, LobByto, which comes alive with live music, delicious tapas, sharing plates and smooth cocktails. Gran Hotel Inglés enables its guests to live Madrid’s history in the present day, while effortlessly enjoying all the contemporary delights of this energetic city.

Broken Sound Club Unveils the Old Course Redesigned

76 MANN ABOUT TOWN • APRIL 2023 SPORTS

Members prepare to tee up as Broken Sound Club, South Florida’s most exclusive and sought-after private residential members club, reopened the long-awaited redesigned Old Course, spearheaded by world-renowned golf course Architect Rees Jones. The Old Course at Broken Sound Club is a stop for tournaments including the PGA TOUR Champions TimberTech Championship and The Jim McLean Junior Championship. Following the redesign, residents and tournament contestants can expect a premier golfing experience every round.

Driven by Broken Sound Club’s ongoing efforts to strategically improve and enhance its facilities for members and guests alike, the project is aimed to advance the objective of sustainability, improve the overall playing conditions and replace infrastructure. At the forefront of sustainability initiatives, the course is the first golf facility in Florida, second in the U.S. and 14th in the world to be GEO Certified.

The par 72 Old Course is a pure core golf course without housing. Among the complete changes and additions to the course, many of the holes have been reimagined to give players more options on how to play each hole and suit their game. In addition, the classic style bunkers are now easier to access and designed to be fair and playable. The course surface is carefully composed of TifEagle Bermuda grass on the greens, Celebration Bermudagrass on the fairways and rough areas and Sunday Bermuda grass on the tee surfaces. The beauty of the redesigned Old Course is in the details, and by challenging the low-handicap player and allowing various openings to most of the greens for the higher handicap person, the redesigned Old Course creates a thought-provoking game for players at every level.

Lead architect Rees Jones has designed more than 260 golf courses in his career. Jones has earned the moniker “The Open Doctor” as his expertise and knowledge for course design have been applied to seven U.S. Open venues, nine PGA Championship courses, six Ryder Cups, two Walker Cup sites as well as three Presidents Cup venues. For this major project, Jones was joined by second in command, Bryce Swanson, who was recognized by a panel of Golf Magazine editors as one of three golf course architects named to “Golf’s 40 Under 40: The 40 Most Influential People in Golf Under 40 Years Old.” The design style is classic, while the technology is modern. Their combined experience redesigning a number of the world’s most notable championship venues has helped provide members with an incredibly dynamic experience right in their backyard.

Players will find the redesigned course to be a unique experience every day. The classic design and technology-forward attributes will enable them to continuously enjoy a compelling game that will provide a new challenge every day. Broken Sound Club Members will have growing pride in their club with the knowledge that, as a team, the Club’s design committee and golf course designers provided the Broken Sound Club community with a landmark course that will stand the test of time. The new and improved Old Course at Broken Sound Club continues to challenge the conventional ideal of South Florida golf courses and should change the golf landscape in the state for years to come.

Walt Disney World Turns 50 and Continues to Entertain Through All Four Seasons

The magic created by Disney is something we feel in our culture year-round, but especially this year as during 2023 one of the world’s most iconic brands celebrates 100 years of storytelling and shared memories at the famed amusement parks. For those wanting to enjoy this landmark anniversary in style, the perfect destination is the coveted property at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World.

Surrounded by the amazing theme-parks of Walt Disney – the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom – the Four Seasons offers a luxurious retreat to regroup after a day’s exploration of the unique excitement created here. The parks cover some 30,000 acres – roughly the size of the city of San Francisco and welcome some 48 million visitors annually.

A dazzling stay at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World allows you and your family to experience the ultimate resort getaway. As is found in the words of the Disney theme song “When You Wish Upon a Star,” the dream holiday becomes a reality here in 26 sprawling acres of paradise.

The AAA Five Diamond Resort located in Lake Buena Vista is a grand property close to all Disney attractions. Visiting the theme park from here is easily accomplished. And rest assured that the offerings of Four Seasons Resort Orlando are so splendid that there is as much a reason to visit the park as there is to stay at the world-class hotel both day and night. From exploring a private five-acre water park with a complimentary Kids Club to unwinding at the adults-only pool, you’ll discover endless ways to enjoy your Orlando vacation without leaving the resort. Adults can tee off at the exclusive Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando or just treat themselves to a soothing, post-park massage at The Spa.

Luxurious amenities await you inside your booked room. Discover a variety of deluxe accommodations, crowned by the stunning nine-bedroom Royal Suite. One can also enjoy new special suite packages. Make yourself at home with personalized in-room decorations, including play tents for kids, complete with an array of themed toys. You can even experience magical sights from the comfort of the Park View room’s private terrace with nightly views of the Walt Disney World fireworks spectaculars, featuring Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot Forever at Epcot.

One of the lesser-known facts of this superlative hotel is the Walt Disney desk – staffed by expert cast members who can help you plan an itinerary on the fly and give great advice. Couple this with the hotel’s location inside the Walt Disney Resort means that guests can access the parks before the general public – which can literally save hours of your day if your ambition is to try one of the more popular theme park rides.

Take in culinary delights throughout your stay here and enjoy memorable meals. Select to be seated in one of six restaurants and bars or opt for a private dining room experience. The Michelin-starred rooftop steakhouse Capa is sensational and showcases a captivating menu for dinner. Then for breakfast meet up at Ravello for the Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy & His Pals, offered every Thursday and Saturday morning. The delicious menu features a fresh bakery basket and breakfast favorites such as omelets and buttermilk pancakes, as well as a decadent breakfast buffet.

The best hospitality is at your fingertips from the moment you enter the property to the days you head out to the nearby amusement parks for thrills. Staying here is such an elevated experience that guests who come for a luxe, fun-filled vacation will head home after knowing their wish for a perfect holiday come true.

The Magic Kingdom is the most iconic of the four theme parks containing the Cinderella Castle and rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion and the all-new Tron Lightcycle/Run.

This year sees the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Avatar Flight of Passage is amongst the top rides across Walt Disney World and is a must-experience.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, visit the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area containing the Rise of the Resistance ride and the Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, two must-experience attractions.

At Epcot, go Around the World in under a day! Visit countries ranging from Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Morocco, Japan, China and even the United States of America.

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair Returns

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary (PBM+C), presented by Art Miami, returned for its sixth edition this March at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. PBM+C annually brings world-class, investment-quality works from the 20th and 21st centuries with a roster of internationally respected galleries from Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Columbia, Venezuela and the United States, to one of the most culturally savvy and discerning collecting audiences in the world.

The fair opened with an exclusive, invitation-only VIP preview benefiting the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens and presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Palm Beach’s own Frances Fisher, a renowned philanthropist and advocate for the arts. Previous PBM+C Lifetime Achievement Award recipients include photographer Harry Benson, South Florida arts and culture advocate Rena Blades, artist Bruce Helander and philanthropist Beth Rudin De Woody. Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens served as a satellite venue for the fair and in celebration of Women’s History Month, LongSharp Gallery presented “SculptHER” an innovative exhibition featuring works by four female sculptors: Julia Ibbini, Nicole Pietrantoni, Cha Jong Rye and Miriam Londoño. The exhibit will run through June 2023.

PBM+C fair attendees also enjoyed a conversation with Jack Rasmussen, the American University Museum’s Director and Curator. Rasmussen discussed a selection of 20 artworks from one of the world’s most acclaimed Chicano artists, Rupert Garcia. The museum’s Corcoran Legacy Collection presented the noteworthy group of works at the fair, and were on-view throughout the weekend.
