If there’s one item high up on my Christmas list that can instantly update and invigorate my winter wardrobe it’s a pair of white boots. Yes, slightly impractical for muddy weather, but who cares when they can make any outfit pop to life. I will be wearing the Raven stiletto boot from Kurt Geiger religiously with black tights and flowing midi dresses.

As much as I love summer, I’m so excited to be moving into winter and embracing the latest fall trends. Most girls will already be thinking about the Christmas party season and what standout styles to wear. If there’s one trend you should be picking up on this winter it would be velvet. Shoes, dresses, blazers and bags, velvet overload is to be found in every store. This dusky pink Patrizia Pepe dress from Manna is my party wear choice, it’s screaming out to be stroked!
Despite all the enticing new trends appearing this fall, I am, mostly sticking to my guns and embracing a ‘less is more approach’ to dressing. Through my capsule dressing experiment (see page 30) I am learning to make my wardrobe work harder for me, updating it with only a few key pieces for winter. A great coat is the start of any winter capsule collection - like this woven coatigan from Great Plains.
My shopping habit may be restricted, but there’s nothing stopping me emulating trends through nail art. Polished and preened nails are a must for over the party season, with marbled styles being totally on point. This design from Melissa at Athena Hair & Beauty ticks all the boxes, a perfect combination of marble effect, metallic and nude. Don’t be afraid to mix them up!

I’m so pleased to see the beret making a comeback this fall. One, because we are close enough to hop over and grab the real deal and two, because I still have these lingering in my closet from the last time they were in style! This season the French fashion staple has been elevated to millinery royalty with styles in glitter, fur and leather to be found. I’m loving this pearl accented offering from Accessorize.
As we approach this season of celebration, I’m hoping that you all find a little fashion inspiration on our high street, that your Christmas lists be long and that your closet runneth over! ■
