Martin Short rose to stardom as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, then joined fellow SNL alumni Steve Martin and Chevy Chase in his big screen debut, Three Amigos. Martin’s stage productions include “Little Me,” to which he earned a Tony Award for ‘Best Actor,’ and Mel Brooks’ The Producers. Marvin Hamlisch is one of the greatest pops artists and conductors of our time. Winner of three Oscar awards, four Grammy awards, three Emmy awards, a Tony Award, three Golden Globe awards and the Pulitzer Prize, some of Hamlisch’s most notable works include “A Chorus Line,” and “The Way We Were”. Dubbed by the New York Times, “The Last Leading Man” on Broadway, Tony-Award Winner Brian Stokes Mitchell starred in John Williams’ Jazz version of “My Fair Lady” at Tanglewood and headlined the Carnegie Hall concert presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific” with Reba McEntire, which airs on PBS. A new production and a first for both the Mann and the Russian National Orchestra is Cirque de la Symphonie. The evening will showcase a troupe of aerial flyers and acrobats, marrying the magic of cirque and orchestra in the Mann’s pavilion. Many of the Cirque de la Symphonie. performers are alumni of Cirque du Soleil. They will perform to the music of Russia’s greatest composers under the direction of conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov (debut) in the Orchestra’s only East Coast stop.

September 23 Friday 9:00pm Tickets: $20, 2 for $30 Du Yun’s music exists at an artistic crossroads of chamber music, theater, pop music, opera, cabaret, storytelling, visual arts and noise. The highlight of the evening will be Angel’s Bone, a world premiere commissioned by the Mann, performed by Du Yun with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). Angel’s Bone will tell the tale of captivity, bondage and eventual liberation of two heavenly angels from a family with a subversive secret. This program has been supported by the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage through the Philadelphia Music Project.
