Grinding and marble honing is the initial step of marble floor restoration. This process is done for removing lippage and any other uneven portions of the existing dull floor. This step helps in removing all the sharp edges, roughness and making the surface smooth. This step is important as this helps in removing even the deepest scratches and stains.

Honing process is mainly performed when the dull floor has excessive scratches and stains leading to extreme dullness. This process is mainly conducted using the single disc machine along with diamond pads which cuts off the top layer of the soft marble stone when performed in a uniform pattern. The diamond pads are used for finer to the coarser pattern for ensuring consistency in honing methods.

Then after massaging the floor rinse the floor properly using enough water and then pick up the salt solution using a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. Crystallization process helps in creating microfilm over the marble surface that is more durable and solid which helps in preserving brightness and colour of marble.
