Kia ora Hasn’t it been lovely to finally receive some warmer weather within the last week, a chance to get out in the garden or get back into our hobbies that may have been restricted by the constant rain we’ve been having. The kids have been sharing stories of getting out and spending time with their pets in preparation for this week’s Pet Day. To kick off Term 4, we welcomed in four new students, two all the way from Holland, Duco in Wakamarina and Lasse in Kenepuru, plus two new entrants in Kaituna; Rhys and Chloe. Some students from Pelorus were very fortunate last week to have local artist and Havelock School Board member, Vicki Parker, do some art lessons in the afternoons. The theme for their art was ‘We Are All Connected’ and they are being entered in the Lions NZ Peace Poster Competition. We wish these students all the best for this competition. Last week we managed to pull together two touch rugby teams to enter in the Marlborough Touch tournament this term. We have entered principal a Year 5/6 team coached by Ethan and Floss, and a Year 7/8 team coached by Page Emma and Sharmaine. Thanks coaches! This couldn’t be done without you. Unfortunately we haven’t got enough students to put together a Year 3/4 team this year.
