Students from the Pelorus Cluster gathered to watch a performance in te reo Māori, put on by Taki Rua theatre group from Wellington.

Kia ora koutou It’s been a busy end to Term Three and already we have plans for a full on Term Four. Our Year 8’s were given an opportunity to go kayaking down the Pelorus River, with Pelorus Eco Adventures (thanks Shane and Asha), our Year 7 and 8’s were expecting to go skiing, however unfortunately Rainbow Ski Field closed the day before their anticipated trip, so that had to be cancelled. Last week we participated in te wiki o te reo Māori and helped make history by being involved in the largest, single celebration of the Māori language in history! Never have so many celebrated our language together at the same time. We joined in by singing our waiata. Next term we start with a hiss and a roar as our tamariki get creative with Vicki Parker coming in to deliver art lessons to all students. You’ll get to see these amazing pieces of work on display in the hall at our Spring Festival/Pet Day on Friday 16 October. So much to look forward to! But for now, time to have a well earned break! See you all next term.

Ngā mihi Tracey Wearing Tēnā koutou katoa, Havelock School Board of Trustees will be holding mid-term trustee elections on Friday 04 December 2020.
