Artwork made by the performer artist Mandra Cerrone.

She lives and works in Italy, at the Mystic Driver Art Lab in Francavilla, Abruzzo.

Ostie is a work that has been performed for the first time in 2006 during the Gold exhibition in the Expo Area in Spoltore (PE); then in 2015 in Venice by VITRARIA Glass+A Museum and in Appartamento Lago in Pescara.

Ostie are fine pastry sweets, that is, they are edible pieces of Art with psichomagical use.

The concept of this artwork is easy, analogous, with references to an ancestral shamanism revisited and updated:

“By eating you I assimilate your essence”.

The Ostie, that are printed with edible inks, represent any possible wished virtue: beauty, wealth, genius, creativity, lightness, power, fashion.

The aim is to create an Art that cures thanks to the active imagination.

The use of Ostie as a vehicle of communication with the unconscious is based on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s researches which is well known as Psychomagic.

During exhibitions and performances Ostia has always been shown lying on a pastry doily in between two glass disks. On the back side of the package there are the ingredients and the expiration date.

Visitors of the exhibition choose the image to be publicly assimilated.
