Overnight camp is a unique, transformative environment of living Judaism. At Camp Wise, accessibility for everyone – regardless of background – is created by the openness of the community. With Shabbat celebrations full of ruach (spirit), Hebrew names for locations around camp, brachot (blessings) before and after meals, and a variety of Jewish educational and cultural activities, campers take ownership for their Jewish exploration that stays with them far beyond camp.
Camp Wise is organized by age-group, co-ed villages; counselors and specialists in these age groups are trained to respond to the specific age-appropriate needs of each camper. The staff in each cabin form meaningful connections with their campers as role models, trusted mentors, and constant sources of encouragement. In addition, a multidisciplinary camper care team helps ensure the mental, emotional, spiritual, and social health of every camper.
WELCOMING SUPPORTIVE CONNECTED
We love our first-time campers! Rishon is our intro session for new campers – it’s the perfect way to get a taste of camp! During their two-week session, campers get to try the best that Camp Wise has to offer, giving them a well-rounded program and leaving them ready for more next summer. Rishon campers live in the Chalutzim village and participate in the same evening programs as the Chalutzim campers.
To support all first-time campers, the One Happy Camper program provides first-time scholarships of $1,000-$1,250 towards camp tuition. For more information, please visit onehappycamper.org.
DATES AND RATES SUMMER 2025
Camp Wise provides a friendly, supportive, and cooperative atmosphere that fosters individual growth at each camper’s own pace. Campers are encouraged to learn new skills and master old ones, to make decisions, to take responsibility, to be expressive, to live with others, and to have fun. Complemented by our Jewish environment, campers develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for Jewish heritage and traditions while also developing a true sense of community. Camp Wise is committed to making sure that every camper leaves with a greater sense of self-esteem and selfconfidence, and with memories that will last a lifetime.
At Camp Wise, one of the oldest Jewish overnight camps in the country, our program is grounded in more than 115 years of tradition. When we sing and dance on Shabbat, cheer on our friends during Maccabiah, and listen to counselors telling stories around campfires at the end of an action-packed camp day, we’re sparking new lifelong memories that link our Jewish future to our past.
Camp Wise also sets the gold standard in Camper Care. Our resources to support campers’ physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health make camp a place where all can feel truly welcomed. In experiencing this kind of environment, our campers also learn how to support their peers – they feel empowered to encourage their friend who is nervous on the ropes course, or practice active listening when a cabin-mate feels a little homesick.
Every summer, hundreds of campers try new activities like jet-skiing, music production, outdoor cooking, and more, all while spending time with their best friends and the best staff in the world. With beautiful forests, a pool and lake, and incredible starry skies, it’s easy to see why Camp Wise really is the Home of Happiness!
