We are looking for night staff to take responsibly during the hours of 10pm - 10am. Must be enthusiastic, reliable and be able to take initiative. 2 staff member are required per night.

Who is the "Amud HaYomi" program intended for?

Dirshu’s Amud HaYomi will give every Yid a chance to finish Shas at the consistent pace of an amud a day, with varying levels of depth and iyun.

Progress could be measured through a testing program with stipend incentives on 4 learning tracks.

What are the different learning tracks within "Amud HaYomi"?

"Amud HaYomi" offers 4 different tracks:

TRACK 1 - א: Gemara and Rashi TRACK 2 - א: Gemara, Rashi, with "Iyun HaAmud"

The "Iyun HaAmud" Booklet in tracks A and B is the same.

What is the purpose of the "Iyun HaAmud" Booklet?

The Booklet 'Iyun HaAmud' is compiled by outstanding talmidei chachamim and will be distributed to assist Amud HaYomi lomdim worldwide.

The Booklet includes the relevant pages of the Gemara with explanations and supplements, marei mekomos, and practical applications of the halachah. It also includes the pirush 'Sofo Berura" on the Gemara

Are there any Shiurim for the "Amud HaYomi" program?

Yes, the Shiurim division of "Dirshu" offers a network of "Amud HaYomi" Shiurim worldwide.

Shiurim could also be found online on the Dirshu websites.

Those interested in starting Shiurim in their Shul, Yeshiva or workplace can contact the Shiurim division for assistance in establishing and conducting the lessons.

Subject to meeting specific criteria, financial support is offered as an introductory assistance to Magidei Shiur, and "Iyun HaAmud" booklets are provided for distribution.

Can any Kollel Erev, yeshiva, or day Kollelim join the program?

Absolutely! "Amud HaYomi" is open to both individuals and groups for daily Shiurim.

New official test centers can also be established in various locations, depending on Dirshu's rules.

Is taking the Test mandatory?

While "Dirshu" encourages all Lomdim to participate in the

monthly tests, it is not mandatory.

By participating in the tests, you gain motivation and a sense of commitment to thoroughly learn the Amud, and you get a better understanding of the Gemara and it's Sugyos.

Who is eligible to participate in the program and tests?

Everyone!

The program and Shiurim are open to all individuals who wish to join. However, to receive the Test Stipends, participation is limited to Lomdim aged 16 and above.

Do I have to register to join?

No, you don't need to register in advance. On Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, you can join alongside thousands of participants from around the world. If you wish to take the test, simply show up at the test center, and your registration will be completed when you take the test.

NEW NHS MOBILE VAN COMES TO PRESTWICH TO TALK TO MEN ABOUT PROSTATE CANCER

The ThisVanCan roadshow is aimed at all men over 45 who have a family history of breast, ovarian or prostate cancer. This means your mother or sister has had breast or ovarian cancer when they were under the age of 50 or your father or brother has had prostate cancer when they were under the age of 55. This is because family history can also increase your risk of developing prostate cancer.

Those visiting the van can also choose whether or not to have a free Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test.

The roadshow will be visiting Prestwich as well as neighbouring Newbury Green in October.

The roadshow is being run by the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance – part of the NHS, working in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK.

Mr Sotonye Tolofari, from Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, said:

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, but most men with early prostate cancer don’t have any symptoms.

“If you, or a husband or loved one is over 45 and has a family history of breast, ovarian or prostate cancer this can increase your risk of prostate cancer. By family history, we mean your mother or a sister has had breast or ovarian cancer when

they were under the age of 50 or your father or a brother has had prostate cancer when they were under the age of 55.

“If you fall into this category, you can book an appointment on the mobile van.”

“We will chat to you about what might increase your risk of prostate cancer and discuss the implications of having a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test.”

The PSA test is a blood test that measures the amount of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. A raised PSA level may suggest you have a problem with your prostate, but not necessarily cancer. The test does not give a conclusive diagnosis on its own, but together with information about your individual lifestyle and risk it can be a helpful tool for doctors to decide if you may need further tests or treatment.

Men who opt to have a PSA test while visiting the van will be given their results within a couple of weeks and referred on for further investigations if needed.
