As one of the only organisations in Manchester, that is open to the entire Kehilla, which offers financial support for a host of different needs, many families rely on us to receive the support they urgently require.

The cost runs into thousands of pounds weekly. Although a large proportion of these funds are allocated for a variety of therapies that are needed, there are numerous regular requests for the cover of basic needs, for which we are the only place where many families can turn towards. As long as the funds are available, we are able to deliver them.

People often call us up crying, as they genuinely feel they have nowhere to turn. We do things that others would perhaps not be willing to do and the messages we receive reflect this. We receive messages like these: "I am unable to sleep. I think of what you have done for us, day after day after day. I want Hashem to look after you, like you look after us ...” ”Every time I think about the text you sent I’m mortified to say I start crying again. It was so unexpected and thoughtful and kind.”

Please remember those who dwell among you and those who wake up in pain, daily, when you allocate your chiyuvim for Yizkor - what better way can you think of, to elevate a departed Neshomo. Likewise, please have these worthy causes in mind, when distributing your regular Maa’ser contributions, as this is a genuine Tzedakah, where every penny of your donation is given to the families who need it most.
