Covid-19 has not gone away even though restrictions have been lifted.

If you test positive

Vaccines remain our first line of defence and It’s not too late to get your first, second or booster dose.

It is strongly advised that you self-isolate if you test positive for Covid, even though you are no longer legally required to do so.

There are clinics across Salford, Bury and Manchester which offer daytime and evening vaccination appointments.

Adults and children who test positive should stay at home and avoid contact with other people for at least 5 full days.

Spring booster doses are now being offered to people who are most vulnerable or aged over 75yrs. If you are eligible you will be contacted shortly to book an appointment.

Don’t go to work. Avoid inviting anyone into your home. Cancel routine medical or dental appointments.

Healthy 5 to 11-year-olds will be offered the vaccine from April.

When to take a lateral flow test It is recommended that you continue to take lateral flow tests, especially before attending a seder, meeting up with elderly people or people who are vulnerable because of health issues. It is still important to register your lateral flow test result especially if it is positive. You can also order a PCR test to be sent to your home.

And please tell people who you have recently been with, that you tested positive.

When can I go out? Take a test on days 5 and 6 and if these are both negative you are fine to go out. If you test positive, continue to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until you receive 2 negative test results on two consecutive days. Continue to wash your hands regularly and let fresh air in, especially during your seders. Consider wearing a mask or other face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, especially when coming into contact with people you do not usually meet.
