afairercity Publication Salford Local Plan: Development Management Policies and Designations Addendum (Proposed Modifications) Comments invited until 19 March 2021.

The city council published the Publication Salford Local Plan: Development Management Policies and Designations (SLP:DMP) for consultation in January 2020. This is the first part of the city’s Local Plan and will provide policies that will be used to decide planning applications, including policies that require developments to provide affordable housing, meet internal space standards and various environmental standards. Part one of the plan will also identify areas for special status to protect the city’s important environmental areas (including open space), infrastructure and town centres. Whilst it was anticipated the January 2020 Local Plan would be the version of the plan that the city council would submit to the Secretary of State for independent examination, some further changes (referred to as “modifications”) are required.

The city council is now inviting comments on the proposed changes until Friday 19 March 2021. All comments received, as well as the comments received to the Publication SLP:DMP consultation, will be submitted to the Secretary of State for consideration at the public examination along with the plan and supporting documents.
