With the development of technology, it seems that human beings is about to be replaced. But AI can not perfectly process the content of a place or a story and put it into a painting.

Each painting has its own story and style, and this is why painting is a long process. Each painting is a step of my growth. When we stop and look backwards we can see that they are the stars we have been following.

Lonely death

In modern society, more and more people live alone, and it is easy to die alone. The bodies of people who die alone need to clean up, so a cleanser is designed to deal with the aftermath for solitary. We should pay more attention to this issue because is ageless.

Dying alone is a lesser-touched issue, but I'm very interested in it. Therefore, for the first time I designed a product, I focused on choosing a theme. I also gained a great deal of knowledge on this novel topic. This is a good start for me.

Mindfulness

Each other will experience a lot of frustration and loss in their daily life. This cannot be avoided. For people who are in a stressful state for a long time, we can try mindfulness to eliminate negative emotions every day and accept ourselves with negative emotions. I hope everyone can relax from mindfulness.

Today calendar

The idea of this product is everyday life. Mindfulness is born of life, so create a calendar that eliminates negative emotions. I hope that the negative emotions of the day can be eliminated immediately.

Postcards

People who is full of stress needs a time to relax. When people are stressed, seeing these postcards reminds them that they can deal with it with mindfulness.

Accepting different emotion is just as difficult, but try to communicate with your negative emotions. Just like the illustration on postcard, try to accommodate their negative emotions.

Mindfulness

Each moment is peaceful when you can accept your different emotions. It is difficult to feel the good things around you in stressful situations. The film will show the changes after mindfulness. Using animation propose solutions for people affected by negative emotions.

An adult who works so hard. His face has big dark circles and frowns for a long time. He is not an optimistic person.

He has a thick eyebrow and whiskers. His stout body and rubicund face contrast with the main character.

The animation is about a person having many troubles in a day but he can remove any negative emotion with mindfulness before the day end.

Design references are important. Before learning design, I would only draw the picture in my head and had no intention of collecting information. With the blessing of references, the work can become complete.

Sketches

Sketches are mainly done in pencil. I like to paint portraits because I can observe people's expressions and emotions.

When I want to draw it better, it makes me foget drawing is a leisure instead of burden. Rethinking can make a painting more meaningful.

As someone who loves to illustrate, I feel successful in being commissioned by others. After trying to draw for client, I understood how to communicate with them. I understand that it is a matter of initiative. I should be proactive in asking questions and caring about my target customers, rather than getting to know them online.

Visual diary

I try to use images to bring out the content of each page. Even if people do not read the text, people can feel the meaning at the first sight. I think it's faster to use images to communicate, and adding color can bring emotions to others. Even if people don't have to look at the text, you can understand my message.

Bodoni

A poster has been designed for the font Bodoni. Bodoni was influenced by the French style, the theme of aristocracy was used. The colour scheme uses the colours of the ancient aristocracy.

When I first encountered fonts, I began to understand the importance of the fonts. The mentality of just painting began to change.

My favourite singer

Being a fan of someone can be a starting point of love, or it can be a continuation of love. Everyone who truly love thier idols, they will put their emotions on them. Therefore, I always want to create artworks for my idols. At the beginning of my design journey, I only draw portrait. After learning about text design, I realized that I can support them in another way. Being a fan of someone is not a bad thing and I will still work hard to learn design while supporting them.

At first I still overlooked the connection between the composition and the typeface.

The Crane Wife

A poignant story well worth recording. The Crane Wife is a parting story. Communicating the story in this poster. I want each painting looks like this poster, conveying a variety of stories to everyone. Drawing is also a way to record things. I hope I can maintain the meaning of painting in this way.

Texture:

Using shiny papers make the crane’s feather. There are purple and blue cut in feather shapes.

For the still life shoot, I photographed the accessories that I wear in my daily life. These accessories are always with me but I rarely pay attention to their details.

During acheiving the goal, it is easy to lose sight of the details around you.

Documentary

During shooting, I was able to notice the details around me and recorded them. I even find some interesting angles to shoot them.

Chasing the goal can be tiring and unsettling. when we get off the beaten track, we realise that we have taken the details around us for granted.

Childhood in Kuk Po

In this project, villagers hope Kuk Po to become an art village. After visiting Kuk Po, there are many beautiful views and people. I experienced the passion of the villagers and the wonderful views in Kuk Po. The villager leader and villagers are friends who proud of Kuk Po and want to promote Kuk Po sincerely. The people in Kuk Po attract me to appreciate this place and promote it.

There are many villages in Hong Kong that have been abandoned. Kuk Po is one of those villages that would like to see their village become better known and sustainable. The main purpose of this design is to promote the culture and history of Kuk Po to the people of Hong Kong from an artistic perspective.

Common flowers include myrtle, wood lotus and wheel plum

Kai Choi School is the only school in Kuk Po

Children go to the reed fields to catch shrimp.

A large reed field that is rare in Hong Kong

They will go to the river to catch the conch and go up the mountain to pick rose myrtles.

Promotion

Using social media to promote and introduce every story through my painting. It can be a place where people can easily learn about Kuk Po culture and history. Social media is very popular nowadays so I put a snippet of the process of drawing. Hoping more Hong Kong people will be interested in Kuk Po.

Postcard:

Kuk Po has experienced immigration, so many villagers have imigrated to cities or foreign countries. Postcards allow villagers to reconnect with old villagers, use postcard to awaken their sense of belonging to Kuk Po, and return to Kuk Po.

I understood the importance of data gathering and communication, so I personally visited Kuk Po many times to communicate with the villagers. The people and things of Kuk Po are the most worth keeping. What I paint is not just images, it is their childhood stories. Therefore, the work is no longer just a painting without any meaning, it's a work full of Kuk Po stories.

In the process of learning to create, it is like chasing an unreachable star. That star is far away as if it can not be touched in a lifetime, and the footprints left in the process of pursuing it are also the method of making stars. Each work carries the frustration and confusion of the past, and when I look backwards of all the works, each one brings me closer to the stars. I never know when I'll get in touch with the star. However I am trying to walk and believe that I will reach the star one day.
