PROGRAM SPONSORS:

The Manatee Chamber named its 2025 Champions of Healthcare at a celebratory awards event on June 12. With a crowd of more than 300, we honored over 60 nominees, 21 finalists, and 9 award winners.

“We received tremendous support for the Champions of Healthcare Awards again this year. It means so much to our region that our eleventh annual awards drew a lot of attention," said Jacki Dezelski, President and CEO of the Manatee Chamber. "It is an honor to celebrate the important work so many people, programs, businesses, and institutions are doing to support healthcare access and delivery, particularly work that is above and beyond anyone's ‘day job’. The Champions of Healthcare Awards has become a signature program which is a testament to the amazing work being done by so many." All in attendance were inspired as award honorees shared their humble passion for service and community members shared stories of how our award winners have made an impact.

Plans are already under way for next year's awards, and it is not too early to begin thinking about nominating a deserving individual, organization, business, or program for the awards. If you'd like to secure your sponsorship for the 2026 Champions of Healthcare Awards, please contact Tonya Kida at 941-748-4842, ext. 122.

LMAA's 2025 Kent C. Schulz Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service

who exemplifies exceptional professional achievement, selfless service, and an enduring commitment to making a positive impact in Manatee County - qualities that Jacki lives and leads by every day.

“Her dedication to fostering a thriving business environment, championing leadership development, and serving with passion and integrity embodies the very essence of the Kent C. Schulz Award,” said Ann Colonna, President of the Leadership Manatee Alumni Association.

Introduced by Rae Dowling, past Chair of the Manatee Chamber Board of Directors and retired executive from Florida Power & Light, Jacki was celebrated as a transformational leader who models integrity, humility, and heart. “She leads with unshakable integrity, always doing the right thing even when no one is watching,” Rae said. “Her resilience is matched only by her compassion. She doesn’t just lead a team - she builds one, where everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired.”

Since joining the Chamber in 1996, Jacki has led major education and workforce initiatives, policy priorities on infrastructure, taxes, and resiliency, the Manatee Young Professionals and more. While she's been on the Chamber team, the Manatee Chamber earned a National Chamber of the Year award and remains the only five-time winner of the Florida Chamber of the Year. Jacki rarely talks about her Chamber career without mentioning the all-star Chamber staff team, whom she credits with delivering unmatched service to Chamber members and our community. She is also quick to honor the incredible mentors she has been blessed to work with and learn from, including the late Bob Bartz, Marie Pender, Neil Spirtas, Nancy Engel Parker, and past Chairs of the Board - all leaders who reflect strength, vision, leadership, and friendship

Jacki embodies the highest ideals of leadership - her poise, professionalism, and diplomacy elevate every endeavor she touches.

Former Chamber Board Chair Jonathan Fleece summed it up best, “Jacki embodies the highest ideals of leadership - her poise, professionalism, and diplomacy elevate every endeavor she touches.”

Jacki thanks LMAA for this honor and applauds the more than 1,400 local leaders who have completed the Leadership Manatee program to help make our region an even better place!
