The Community Center features two full basketball courts, an indoor pool, fitness rooms, and rental spaces including a 3,480 sq. ft. banquet hall.

The City of Manassas Park, Department of Parks and Recreation is committed to the provision of quality leisure services for the residents of Manassas Park. Over the years, through the many changes the City has endured, the Department of Parks and Recreation has responded to the growing needs of the community by continuing to support the Governing Body’s vision to be the “Premier Northern Virginia Community to live, work, and raise a family”.

POLICIES Registration Registration is on a “first come, first serve basis.” You will only be notified if the class/program is cancelled. Late registrations may be accepted if space is available with no reduction in fee. We encourage registering online at www.ManassasParkCommunityCenter.com.

Forms & Fees Each class/program must be accompanied by payment. You may register and pay for classes online at www.ManassasParkCommunityCenter.com or in person at the Community Center located at 99 Adams Street, Manassas Park, VA 20111. Checks are to be made payable to “City of Manassas Park.” There is a $50 returned check fee for any check returned by the bank. All credit card transactions are assessed a 3% fee.

Cancellations The Department of Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel any class/ program which does not meet the minimum enrollment. All programs with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled 5 days prior to the program start date.

PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! Non-City Residents Most of the fee based classes/programs are available to non-city residents at an additional fee. Please see the individual class/program for additional information.

Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather the Department of Parks and Recreation will follow the local government cancellation schedule. If classes/programs are cancelled, every attempt will be made to re-schedule the class/program.

These small parks, ranging in size from a quarter acre to one acre, are located in the residential neighborhood of the western area of the City and primarily service the residents local to each site.

Block Parks are open year round from 7:30 am until dusk.

Costello Park

INFORMATION The Manassas Park Dog Park features a large and small dog run for your pets to exercise and interact in a safe environment with other dogs

• Hours: 8:00am-Dusk • Dogs must be current on all vaccinations. Proof of a current rabies vaccination and license is required upon request of a police or animal control officer. Tags may serve as proof.

• Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the dog park.

• For the safety of your dog(s) and other park visitors, choke, prong (pinch), and spike collars are strictly prohibited. If you use these types of collars, remove them before entering the park.

• No children under the age of 16 are permitted unless accompanied by an adult.

• Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.

• Female dogs in heat are prohibited from entering the park.

• Dogs over six months must be spayed or neutered.

• Dog owners must be in dog park and within view of their dogs at all times.

• Please do not bring dog food into the park.

• Owner must clean up after dog.

• Failure to abide by the park rules may result in loss of privileges or owners may be ticketed.

• Use of dog park is at owners’ and pets’ risk.

• Please be advised Leash Laws in effect per City Code §5-22. Dogs must be on leash when not inside dog park. *Park occasionally closed during normal hours for maintenance and special events.

Signal Hill Monument

A nationally registered historical landmark, this 13-acre monument site is located in the eastern end of the City, adjacent to Signal Hill Park. Signal Hill is open year round from 7:30am until dusk.

Camp Carondolet

A nationally registered historical landmark, this 8-acre Civil War encampment is located in the Blooms Crossing subdivision adjacent to Cougar Elementary School.

The Georgia Cemetery

Included in the Camp Carondelet nomination is a Civil War cemetery located in the direct vicinity of Camp Carondelet in the Blooms Crossing subdivision.

The Union Mill Trestle

A key structure in the Civil War, this is located in the last few remaining acres of the once Union Mill Park near the VRE lot and General’s Ridge Golf Course. This site is not accessible to the general public.

All parks and facilities are open to the public and may be scheduled for specific use through the Parks and Recreation Department. The rental application is a request only, not a guarantee. A Rental Request Application is required for all facility reservations. Special Permits, in addition to the Field Use Application, may be required for after hours events, special events, or group use.

Payment must accompany a Rental Request Application. The Department does not accept tentative reservations. Cancellations must be made at least 10 days in advance in order to receive a refund for outdoor rentals. Applications are available at the Manassas Park Community Center. All rentals are subject to availability and must be booked and paid for 10 days in advance of event.

Deposits are a one time refundable fee. Restrictions may apply.

Field Application: Athletic fields and park grounds are available for rental between March 15th – November 15th to registered leagues and group users. Cost for permits vary on the type of usage and the duration of the request. All field usage requests are accepted beginning January 1st of each calendar year.

Get ready for some great abdominal exercises to strengthen the muscles of the core, spine, and torso. Improve your body’s overall functional strength, balance, and coordination!

Aquasize

This class provides a low-impact, full body exercise while helping you tone your muscles.

Beginner Yoga

Beginners Yoga will cover the fundamentals of yoga poses and breathing techniques. This class will also focus on strength and flexibility as well as breath awareness and relaxation.

Yogalates

Yogalates is a dynamic fusion of yoga and Pilates that combines the best of both practices. This class emphasizes core strength, flexibility, and balance, offering a full-body workout that tones muscles while promoting relaxation and mindfulness. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve posture, or enhance your overall fitness, Yogalates provides a balanced approach to achieving your wellness goals.

Water Walking

Like any water aerobic exercise, water walking is easy on the joints. The water’s buoyancy supports the body’s weight, which reduces stress on the joints and minimizes pain. Water provides 12 times the resistance of air, so as you walk, you’re really strengthening and building muscle.

Body Sculpting

A lightweight dumbbell workout moved to the beat of the music. Burn calories as you flow through a variety of exercises to sculpt and tone your body! You’ll notice improvements in your muscle tone, posture, balance, and strength.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp is designed for those desiring to increase cardiovascular fitness and increase muscular strength more efficiently. Boot Camp is for the beginner to the advanced enthusiast. Work out in a team environment while challenging yourselves with others to reach your personal fitness goals.

Buddy Yoga

Buddy Yoga will focus on the foundations of yoga while providing plenty of modifications for physically or cognitively disabled adults.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a soothing and slow-paced class designed to help ease the body and mind into various postures without the intensity found in other styles of yoga. This practice focuses on relaxation and mindfulness, making it perfect for those looking to reduce stress, improve flexibility, and enhance overall well-being. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, Gentle Yoga provides a welcoming environment to unwind and rejuvenate.

Kickboxing

MPCC Indoor Pool Information The Manassas Park Community Center natatorium is an NCAA short course certified indoor pool consisting of eight 25 yard lanes, a zero depth entry, and a spa. The pool temperature is maintained at a comfortable 82˚F. Kick boards, pull buoys, and life jackets for patrons are available for use while at the facility.

Certain areas of the pool may not be open for public swimming due to swim lessons, group exercise classes, or league rentals.

(Ages 6 months-3 years) In this class, a parent is in the water with the child. This class is ideal for children who aren’t comfortable in water.

Play, sing songs, and learn the basics of swimming and water safety!

(Ages 5-12) Children in this level can swim at least one length of the pool on their own without assistance, have some rhythmic breathing skills and can float on their back & front for 5 seconds.

They will be introduced to basic swimming skills such as blowing bubbles, floating, and putting their faces/foreheads in the water.

(Ages 5-12) Prior to starting this class, children should be able to swim 2 continuous laps of both freestyle (front crawl) and back stroke (back crawl). They will be introduced to all 6 Red Cross swimming strokes: Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Breast stroke, Side stroke, Elementary Back stroke and the Butterfly stroke. They will also learn proper flip turns, diving skills, and swim team techniques.

Extended Care follows the licensing standards of the State of Virginia, Department of Social Services. Our Before and After School care is for children Kindergarten through 5th grade attending City of Manassas Park Schools. We offer themed activities that include arts and crafts, as well as games, sports, and swimming in a fun, supervised environment! At no additional cost, some teacher workdays, school breaks, and holidays are covered by full-day care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 pm. We offer a daily drop-in option. If you are interested, you are required to complete the registration process for Extended Care to utilize it.

(Ages 6-13) WCRB’s Advanced Karate/MMA Class is for students with purple belt or higher. With emphasis on Courtesy, Discipline, & Respect, students will learn a mixture of several different art forms.

The program is combined with our Academic Excellence program for maximization of your child’s learning experience. We will also be tracking their progress at home and grades at school with our Student ID card and Notice of Intent to Promote. In this class they will begin to hone their skills by helping to train lower belt students. This is a Belt class from purple to black with testing two to four times a year. For uniforms and equipment, contact Master Geoff.

Manassas Park Youth Basketball League The MPYBL is excited to host our 2025-2026 Youth Basketball League!

Biddy ball (Ages 4-5) will practice and play all games on Fridays. The House League (Ages 6-15) will play games on Saturdays.

Division placement is determined by age on January 1st, 2026. Skills evaluation for the House league will be Saturday, November 15th. Teams are formed via draft and jerseys are provided to each player.

Practices will begin December 5th for the Biddy Ball divison and the week of December 8th for the House League division. Games will begin January 2nd for the Biddy Ball divison and begin January 3rd for the House League games. Playoffs and the All-star game will be played in March.

Manassas Park Teen Passport Welcome to the Teen Passport specifically for teens in 6th-12th grades! The Teen Passport membership is $20.00 per month. Teens can earn points toward their Teen Passport each month with good grades, community service, and by volunteering. When a teen earns 20 points, their next month is FREE!

Every Wednesday and Friday, the Community Center basketball courts are the place to be! The gym is reserved just for you to hoop with your friends. Grab friends, a basketball, and meet us on the court.

All Sports Compete with friends in a blend of sports, water games, and teambuilding games. Be ready for many laughs while building social skills.

Get Fit Monday/Thursday Stop by MPCC for a full-body workout it can be intense or light, depending on how hard you push yourself. We will provide you with a log to keep track of your progress.

GENERAL Friday Night Live Connect with Your Community Movie Monday On Mondays, the Teen Center turns into a mini movie theatre! Grab a chair, and we’ll provide the snacks. We will watch anything from Disney classics to motivational movies, to some of the newest releases. All films are rated G – PG-13.

Challenge Complete Teens will be split up into groups and participate in team building activities that will challenge their mind with hands-on experiments and competitions. Teams will earn points by being the first to complete the experiments and challenges. Prizes will be awarded.

Friday nights in the teen center are LIT! The Last Friday of the month we will have a new activity accompanied by music and food. Come find out why the Teen Center is the place to be!

Our league is co-ed, and we focus on skill development Fundamentals. In this age group, teams practice and play games on Fridays only. Practices will begin December 5th and games will begin January 2nd. Registrations will be accepted until December 3rd.

If selected to an MPYBL Elite travel team, then the cost for the winter 2025-26 FCYBL travel season will be $300.00 per player. This fee covers the FCYBL registration fees, uniform fees, includes two practices/week from November – March, 13 total games and any additional administrative fees. 2025-2026 Manassas Park Youth Basketball League Elite Travel Team The MPYBL Elite travel teams will compete in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League. The FCYBL is designed for skilled players, serious about developing their game and seeking a higher level of competition. The MPYBL will place teams in the FCYBL and can be in any of the following grades- boy’s 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. We will also look to place a girls’ team in any of the following grades - 5th, 6th, 7th, or the 8th grade division.

Try-Outs MPYBL will be hosting try-outs for our travel teams in late September or early October. You must register to participate in the try-out. Any athlete that is not selected for the MPYBL travel team will still be eligible to participate in the MPYBL winter house League.

Trunk or Treat Ghosts, monsters, superheroes, and princesses, it could only mean one thing, it’s Halloween! Come out to the Community Center for an afternoon of fun and safe trunk or treating. Decorated vehicles will align the parking lot with their trunks open as they pass out candy to all the trick or treaters. We are looking for businesses and individuals who are interested in decorating your vehicle and passing out candy/treats to attendees, if interested please contact Kaitlyn Hall at k.hall@manassasparkva.gov.
