Over the years, through the many changes the City has endured, the Department of Parks and Recreation has responded to the growing needs of the community by continuing to support the Governing Body’s vision to be the “Premier Northern Virginia Community to live, work, and raise a family”.
Registration is on a “first come, first serve basis.” You will only be notified if the class/program is cancelled. Late registrations may be accepted if space is available with no reduction in fee. We encourage registering online at www.ManassasParkCommunityCenter.com.

The Union Mill Trestle A key structure in the Civil War, this is located in the last few remaining acres of the once Union Mill Park near the VRE lot and General’s Ridge Golf Course. This site is not accessible to the general public.
A nationally registered historical landmark, this 8-acre Civil War encampment is located in the Blooms Crossing subdivision adjacent to Cougar Elementary School. A series of nature trails are available to the public year round from 7:30am until dusk.

The Georgia Cemetery Included in the Camp Carondelet nomination is a Civil War cemetery located in the direct vicinity of Camp Carondelet in the Blooms Crossing subdivision.
LIBRARY INFORMATION
HISTORICAL SITES INFORMATION
All parks and facilities are open to the public and may be scheduled for specific use through the Parks and Recreation Department. The rental application is a request only, not a guarantee. A Rental Request Application is required for all facility reservations. Special Permits, in addition to the Field Use Application, may be required for after hours events, special events, or group use. Payment must accompany a Rental Request Application. The Department does not accept tentative reservations. Cancellations must be made at least 10 days in advance in order to receive a refund for outdoor rentals. Applications are available at the Manassas Park Community Center. All rentals are subject to availability and must be booked and paid for 10 days in advance of event. Certain restrictions may apply. Deposits are a one time refundable fee. Restrictions may apply.
• Proof of a current rabies vaccination and license is required upon request of a police or animal control officer. Tags may serve as proof.
• Use of dog park is at owners’ and pets’ risk.

DOG PARK INFORMATION
• Dogs over six months must be spayed or neutered.
Field Application: Athletic fields and park grounds are available for rental between March 15th – November 15th to registered leagues and group users. Cost for permits vary on the type of usage and the duration of the request. All spring field usage requests are accepted beginning February 1st of each calendar year for a March 15th – June 30th spring season. All fall field usage requests are accepted beginning July 1st of each calendar year for an August 15th – November 15th fall season.
• All off-leash dogs must be under voice control of their owners.
• Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the dog park.
• Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.
• Dog owners must be in the park and within view of their dogs at all times.
• Failure to abide by the park rules may result in loss of privileges or owners may be ticketed.
Signal Hill Monument A nationally registered historical landmark, this 13-acre monument site is located in the eastern end of the City, adjacent to Signal Hill Park. Signal Hill is open year round from 7:30am until dusk.
• For the safety of your dog(s) and other park visitors, choke, prong (pinch), and spike collars are strictly prohibited. If you use these types of collars, remove them before entering the park.

• No children under the age of 16 are permitted unless accompanied by an adult. Children have a tendency to scream and run when excited, which can trigger a dog’s prey drive or natural instinct to chase. Ab Workout Get ready for some great abdominal exercises to strengthen the muscles of the core, spine, and torso. Improve your body’s overall functional strength, balance, and coordination! Aquasize This class provides a low-impact, full body exercise while helping you tone your muscles.
This gentle yoga class is for individuals 60 years of age and up. Senior yoga will help to increase mobility, inspire tranquility, and promote an overall sense of well being.
Water Walking Like any water aerobic exercise, water walking is easy on the joints. The water’s buoyancy supports the body’s weight, which reduces stress on the joints and minimizes pain. Water provides 12 times the resistance of air, so as you walk, you’re really strengthening and building muscle.

Manassas Park Sharks Swim Team (Ages 5-18) Does your child love swimming, but is aging out of our swim lesson program? Does your child participate on a summer swim team? Is your child looking for a way to stay active and make new friends? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, the Manassas Park Sharks Swim Team is the perfect fit for your family! This swim team is about having fun, making friends, staying fit, and perfecting your swim skills! There won’t be long, early morning swim meets every weekend. The MPYBL is excited to host our 2022-2023 Basketball League! Biddy ball (Ages 4-5) will practice and play all games on Fridays. The House League (Ages 6-15) will play games on Saturdays. Division placement is determined by age on January 1st, 2023. Skills evaluation for the House league will be the week of November 14th. Teams are formed via draft and jerseys are provided to each player. begin December 9th for the Biddy Ball division and the week of December 12th for the House League division. ◊MP3◊GENERAL MP3 (Manassas 3 O’clock Club) is a non-licensed program operated by the City of Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation. The program is lightly supervised for your teen to have a safe and fun place to be after school. The program emphasizes recreation with creative programs and materials that encourage and invite participation. Recreation Leaders guide students in activities that allow participants to learn; choosing independent activities or participating in-group activities that are fun, safe, and challenging.

LGBTQ+ Teen Group LGBTQ+ Youth Fridays are back! Join us every second and fourth Friday nights of the month from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Elite Travel Team: Player Eligibility Travel teams are grade-based. This means anyone in the designated grade can participate if they are not more than 2 years older than others in that grade as of September 1st of that year. All players will be expected to provide documentation of their current grade (report card) along with proof of address once selected to a team.
MPYBL will be hosting try-outs for our travel teams at a to-bedetermined. You must register to participate in the try-outs. Any athlete that is not selected for the MPYBL travel team will still be eligible to participate in the MPYBL winter house league.

Children MUST be potty trained.
