Talameshia often records song ideas using voice memos on her cell phone. The vocal powerhouse loves making strong and powerful ballads but also enjoys making music she can dance to.
Houston we have a problem! As if the temps weren’t already rising, singer
Talameshia is dropping more “Heat” just in time for the summer. The artist from Gunspoint(Greenspoint) recently signed with Never Fall Off Ent., a record label created by producer Beat King, also from Houston. He has created records like, “Then Leave,” “SDAB (Shake Dat A** B*tch)” and “Tuh.” The unlikely collaboration between a producer who makes anthems for the clubs and an emerging singer with powerhouse vocals has its perks. Talameshia says, “Now I’m making the kind of records that I love.”
The city of Houston is home to
Pimp C, Bun B, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil’ Keke and
Megan Thee Stallion. Talameshia says her hometown has always known what to do with their rappers but the city’s singers are often told to “go to LA” to break-out. There hasn’t been a singer out of H-Town since
Beyonce.

singing career she signed an artist development contract with Beyonce Knowles-Carter’s father,
Mathew Knowles. He
famously managed his daughter and her Destiny’s Child singing group. Talameshia was the only singer in a threemember hip hop girl group managed by Knowles called “Blush.”

Once when the group was performing, there were technical issues with two of the three mics. Only Talameshia’s microphone worked. To save the performance, she sang all of her parts but also had to improvise and rap the parts of her bandmates.
During her time in the group, the 5’9 Colombian-Creole vocalist was constantly compared to Beyonce while being coached to “look and act” differently than the “Crazy in Love” icon. Talameshia says she found it hard to strip her Houston accent. Even more–she found it difficult to give up her love for big hair when asked to–but did.

Talameshia was a member of a hip-hop group called "Blush" and was managed by Mathew Knowles. Despite the group disbanding, she says Mr. Knowles undoubtedly influenced her development as an artist.
It was important for her to find her own way as an artist.
“I was an artist trying to make a name for myself and find my sound,” said Talameshia. “I cut all of my hair off to try to be different.”

touring all across the country. Despite the guidance of Mr. Knowles, Talameshia and her “Blush” group realized their time together was running out. As they began to unravel in 2018 she met Beat King. After watching her perform with Blush, he expressed an interest in working with her.
“I met him at Mr. Knowles’ House of Dereon which was a performance hall,” said Talameshia. “He said, ‘When you ready to go solo, let me know!’”
Beat King took note of her vocals, her edgy sex appeal and big stage presence.
“She didn’t look like any other singer–she looked like Houston,” recalls Beat King. “After hearing her song covers I became a fan of her voice. She always stood out.”

two reconnected. She and Beat King didn’t know how the collaboration would work at first.
“He’s a marketing genius, super creative and he knows how to make people stop scrolling and pay attention,” Talameshia says about Beat King. “But he had never worked with a singer before.”
Together they experiment with sounds often. With the backing of Beat King, Talameshia is developing upbeat, high-energy pop and R&B records that allow her to both sing and dance. The “Caution” music video she released in spring of this year shows her and six dancers taking over a parking garage with full choreo. Social media comedian Tim Bae also makes a cameo in the video. Talameshia is now gearing up for a follow-up track.
“The DJs are going to love this new record,” says Talameshia about “Heat” featuring Beat King. “I’m not hiding my voice anymore.”
