Dear Friends, We made it! This certainly was a year unlike any other I have experienced in my career -- or lifetime! Even with the realities of COVID, Malvern realized unprecedented success.

Our athletics teams had one of the most successful years in school history — Wrestling is #1 in the nation, Ice Hockey is #1 in the State, both Lacrosse and Baseball won Inter-Ac Title Championships, and our Rowing team placed #2 in the nation, losing to the first place finisher by only .007 seconds! I want to congratulate both our student-athletes and coaches for a job well done.

As creative as ever, our Arts Teams found new ways to exhibit their work through virtual art shows and recorded concerts.

The Malvern Theatre Society performed three productions that were recorded and shared. Student Life reimagined many student events, including the Senior Prom which was held outside in Malvern’s Quad — a beautiful night that was complete with fireworks. The talents of our artists, musicians, and student-led teams shined bright this year.

Academic, athletic, and artistic success only tell part of the story. What was most remarkable to me this year was that our students were happy. Despite the limitations of COVID — masks and social distancing — when I would traverse campus, it was evident to me that our boys want to be at Malvern and they genuinely enjoy being together. A pandemic did not take that away; in fact, Friar Brotherhood is stronger than ever!

As we prepare for the 2021–2022 academic year and a return to normalcy, I am excited to see what will be accomplished in the months and year ahead.

It does not go unrecognized that our students are thriving and we have achieved success due to a loving community that remains dedicated to the mission of Malvern Prep. From our faculty, staff, and coaches to parents, alumni, Board of Trustees,

Arts On Campus

Bring Living Stations Back to the Stage Students were back on stage this year, presenting six performances of the Living Stations to their peers during Brotherhood Days in the month of March.

“We were so happy to be able to have the performance again,” shared Dr. Jim Fry, Director of Student Life.

All of those involved in the production adhered to strict COVID-19 protocols.

“We made sure we followed guidelines set forth by the school with regards to mask-wearing and social distancing,” shared Dr. Fry. “Performances were limited to each Brotherhood Day so each class can see it and remain socially distanced.”

Dr. Fry led the production, Ed Liga led the musicians and choir, Rob Muntz P‘26 and Noah Buscaglia ‘22 handled the lighting, Mark McLaughlin P‘03 handled the sound, and Billy Mullray ‘22 videotaped and edited the performance to share with the larger school community. Thank you to all who helped make this production a success! mp

Traditionally both Winter and Spring Art Shows are held in the Duffy Art Center each year.

However, due to COVID, the work of our talented artists was shared virtually this year. While we were not able to hold our Arts Shows in person, we continue to celebrate our students’ many artistic talents. mp

Malvern Theatre Society Broadway Revue This year, the Malvern Theatre Society (MTS) put on a Broadway Revue for their peers and family members in the Duffy Theatre.

Music from Hamilton, Rent, Wicked, and many others was performed by students at the Spring show on May 13. Due to COVID restrictions, the MTS was not able to put on their Fall and Spring Musicals in the same format to which we are accustomed.

The Broadway Revue was the first show that students were able to perform live in front of an audience. Dr. Fry, Director of the Malvern Theatre Society, shared, “The students were so happy to be back on stage again. Many have missed their ‘home’ and couldn’t wait

to perform again.”

Every aspect of the MTS program is led by students. Members of the program gain experience in the following areas: acting, singing, dancing, costuming, hair design, makeup, lighting design, sound design, set construction, set decorating, ushering, graphic design, and box office management. It truly takes a village to produce these productions. Congratulations to all the students and faculty members who worked on bringing this revue to life, and we cannot wait to see what next year brings!

“I’m expecting that to grow and that’s a great thing. What I would love to see is it can be expanded to all Augustinian schools; we can create that kind of a Dashboard with a subcategory,” he said. “Can we think about Philadelphia region schools, do we start to activate Inter-Ac and the Philadelphia region, because I think the more people think about these, the better.”

Malvern Student Finds Success as Music Producer

Aidan found support to pursue his passion at Malvern in Mr. LeRoi Leviston. “Aidan knew that I was also a hip-hop artist and asked me if he could send some beats my way. Every so often he would send more beats, and you could tell that he was passionate and getting better. I just continued to encourage him to keep going and never quit. I couldn’t be more proud of him,” shares Leviston.

Aidan’s total streams worldwide across all platforms like Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube are close to 100 million. The popularity of the Fast and Furious movies will certainly help those numbers to grow even more.

The feeling is mutual. Aidan’s dad recognizes and sees the support and flexibility that Aidan has received from his counselors and Mr. Levistion; “We cannot say enough about the support Aidan has received from Mr. Lev since he was a freshman. He has always been encouraging to him and telling him he can achieve his dreams no matter how big.”

While Aidan’s focus is increasingly on Pop and Latin music, his current published songs and initial success has come in Rap/Hip-Hop. He has successfully collaborated with Tory Lanez and fellow producers Jackson and Williamson to release the album “Loner.” He produced three songs on that album, “Motorboat,” “1 Hitter (featuring VV$ Ken),” and “My Time to Shine (featuring 42 Doug).” Each of these songs has millions of streams worldwide and was promoted at the start of 2021 with a “Loner” billboard in the middle of Times Square. “While the initial success has come in Rap/Hip-Hop, Aidan’s musical interests are really broad and

In the past year he has sent music to, or produced songs for, a diverse group of artists like Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Kevin Gates, and Saweetie. “I see Aidan as being one of the biggest producers in music. Not just hip-hop but R&B, Latin, and Pop. I believe he will be signed to a major label and work with more major artists in the upcoming months to a year. Every single goal he has set for himself is attainable. It sounds cliched, but the sky is the limit for him and even beyond that,” says Mr. Leviston.

Writer and producer Aidan Cullen ‘22, known professionally as “Crunch,” has been honing his craft of music production since he was in 6th grade. In July of 2020, Aidan saw the release of “Convertible Burt” (performed by Tory Lanez and Kevin Gates) from the “Road to Fast 9 Mixtape” which he wrote and produced in collaboration with Chaz Jackson and Orlando Williamson. Since its release, the song has over 30 million streams worldwide and was featured in the official soundtrack of the movie “Fast and Furious 9” (“F9”) which was released worldwide on June 25, 2021. F9 is the ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious Saga, which has endured for two decades and has earned more than $5 billion around the world.

Q&A with Crunch We reached out to Aidan Cullen to dig deeper into how his love of music and early success has become a career path for him.

What inspired your interest in music production?

Since I was a kid, music has always been my forte. By the time I hit sixth grade, I had already taught myself how to play six instruments.

Over time, I started to explore different aspects of making music. In eighth grade, I came across a video of someone making a beat on YouTube. I instantly became addicted and begged my parents to buy music production software. From then on, I worked five hours a night, trying my best to perfect my craft.

Whether it was music feedback or tips to help me deal with my stutter, he was always my number one supporter. I genuinely believe that he is the purest and most loyal person I have met at Malvern.

What are your plans after Malvern?

After I graduate, I plan to move to Los Angeles and work on music fulltime. Over time, I have built up a plethora of industry connections out in the LA area, so it is the best place for me to be as I look to pursue my career further.

How has Malvern helped motivate you to continue with your passion?

What have you done so far of which you are most proud?

I genuinely believe that there is no better school to foster my craft than Malvern. From the time of freshman year, I was allowed full access to the music studio during any free period. Instead of going to talk with friends during my breaks, I would head straight to the studio to work and improve. On top of this, I was offered the chance to take an independent study class in music production. This gave me an hour every day of studio time at school, in which I would get graded on performance. It truly helped me foster my love for music, and only furthered my career.

Over the past year, my released tracks have generated about 87 million streams worldwide, along with one of the songs I worked on being placed on the soundtrack for the Fast and Furious movie. Noticing this success and my hard work, I was recently offered a writing and publishing deal from Universal Music and Arthouse Entertainment. This means I will be put on their roster of writers and producers, and given opportunities and access with big artists. It is also really nice that I have finally started to get paid for all my work and writing credits, which can really help to support me as I get started in this industry. After some negotiations and tremendous help from my legal team and management, we are close to the execution of this deal. I could not be more excited and grateful for the opportunities I have been given so far, as well as all the people that have helped me along the way, especially my Mom and Dad who have been so supportive since I first started in music. mp

Describe your relationship with Mr. Leviston and how he has helped you navigate the industry?

From the moment I met Mr. Lev, I knew we were going to be close.

We quickly discovered each other’s love for music, as well as the fact that we both had stutters. I began to send him some of my stuff 15

different from the traditional proms of years past. It was held outside on Malvern’s beautiful Quad replete with food trucks, carnival games, photo booths, and fireworks!

When planning for the prom began just before Christmas break, the country was still in the midst of the COVID pandemic, making planning for any event difficult. This year’s senior class had already missed out on their Junior Prom, which had been canceled due to the pandemic. When asked what drove the decision for Malvern to reimagine the prom to fit within COVID protocols, Dr. Fry, Director of Student Life, responded, “Honestly, it was a comment

from a student in December. A senior said, ‘It’s hard to believe that I may go through high school without ever attending a prom.’ That comment haunted me to the point where I knew we needed to do something. Fr. Reilly, Mr. Algeo, and I were determined to try and have something for the students.”

With that determination, a Student Prom Committee was formed and included seniors: Josh Smith, Owen Bergan, Brendan McLaughlin, John Baran, Teddy Meehan, Owen Maul, Brad Corsi, Tommy Klusarits, Cooper Frankenheimer, Aidan Catania, and Andrew Monteith. By all accounts, the students made this prom happen — from planning to organizing to executing.

Josh Smith recalled, “We wanted to create something that our class would have a ton of fun at, but we also wanted it to be safe. Our goal was to ultimately create something where people didn’t even realize there were COVID restrictions because they were having so much fun.”

The overall feedback from prom guests was extremely positive.

“I remember going up to the stage with a few of the committee members about a half-hour into the prom and just looking out and seeing everyone eating and playing games. There weren’t people sitting around at a table, super bored like you would usually see at a prom or homecoming dance.

This was enough for me to be happy,” shared Smith.

Smith credits the entire Prom Committee with pulling off a memorable event.

“I could not have been more proud of the dedication that the rest of the guys showed. Being a part of the process, I know how much time and effort it took to make it all happen. I am most proud of the fact that I can say I was involved with a group that cares about their classmates so much, they are willing to dedicate hours to make sure it is perfect.

No one on the committee had any experience with planning an event, so we all went into it blind. Even though we were all inexperienced in that regard, it still turned out to be perfect, so I could not be happier,” said Smith.

The prom was such an incredible success that the junior class has already been surveyed about what they might like for their prom next year. “Responses seem to lean to an on-campus, outdoor event for 2022,” shared Dr. Fry. mp 17

Six Seniors Receive National Merit Honors Congratulations to the six seniors honored by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. Thomas Wang was one of 16,000 Semi-Finalists. Christopher Ayres, Brad Corsi, Joe Fricker (not pictured), Maceo Giampietro, and Daniel Ward all were Commended Students. mp

Malvern Campus Celebrates Earth Week The Malvern Prep Environmental Club hosted a robust Earth Week 2021 celebration on campus.

The Earth Week Fair was held on Tuesday, April 20, and included plastic bottle bowling, a sustainability pledge table, a climate justice presentation, turtles from the Malvern Zoo, and seed planting. In addition, Thomas Wang ‘21 of the Beekeeping Club was there to explain the process of making honey.

On Earth Day, April 22, the Environmental Club planted a Redbud ‘Merlot’ tree in front of the Sullivan Hall stairs. Club co-leaders, Sean McCarthy ‘21 and Daniel Balmer ‘22, along with club members Cade Hepplemann ‘24, Jake Marrone ‘23, and Carter Deves ‘23 were part of this planting initiative. mp

Malvern Students Making an Impact Towards the Fight Against COVID-19 Beginning last May, and lasting through the height of the pandemic, 10 Malvern students contributed to the fight against COVID-19 by manufacturing, packaging, and distributing COVID-19 testing kits at Dyad Enterprise’s facility in King of Prussia, PA. Chris Buysse, Ryan Davis, Henry Heeb, Gavin Kane, Evan Kent, Hans Kiernan, Jett Neily, Andrew Ragaglia, Roman Vernisi, and Alex Vu stepped up to provide their time and work ethic. Their daily tasks included assembling the kits in bags, arranging box shipments, and loading those shipments onto trucks.

In total, this group contributed to producing over 10 million COVID Collection Kits to help protect our local community, along with businesses, schools, and individuals throughout the US. Dyad provided jobs to over 500 individuals throughout the pandemic.

“Dyad has given me a unique opportunity to work a fulfilling job with many other like-minded individuals looking to help out and make a difference in a dire time,” shared Vu. According to Ragaglia, “It started out as just a job that started over the summer, but from my very first day, I realized that Dyad is much more than a job. It is a community of people that became close friends by achieving the same goal, which was to do whatever we could to help combat the pandemic. It was an uplifting experience that changed who I was as a person for the better and gave me memories and bonds I will never forget.”

Buysse reflected on the friendships and sense of purpose he found.

“I began work at Dyad toward the end of the school year. It helped me make new friends, make the summer days go by, and made me feel like I was contributing to fight the pandemic. I had a ton of awesome memories at Dyad and met some incredible friends there. It is, without a doubt, the most unique thing I’ve ever been a part of and truly loved working there.”

The opportunity for our students to work at Dyad Enterprise came about through word of mouth from colleagues at other schools. The team at Dyad consisted of about 85% of high school and college students from local public and private schools. mp

Over three days, from April 22–April 24, 2021, members of the Malvern community were treated to a variety of virtual messages, a superhero drive-by along Ring Road, a Cocktails for Caritas contest, and a silent auction raffle.

Our live auction featured items such as a private dinner with former White House Chef Moeller, travel stays, and a graduation package. The online auction included beautiful

Malvern Prep’s 95th Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement were held on Thursday, June 9, in the O’Neill Sports Center, due to rain, high heat, and humidity. With COVID restrictions lifted in time for graduation, families were invited to bring guests and celebrate the Class of 2021 and their achievements.

The Malvern community paid tribute to the 132 seniors of the Class of 2021 for their accomplishments, commitment to service, and the strong bonds of brotherhood that they have formed.

Class Speaker Riley Owen McCarry ‘21, who will be attending Villanova University, spoke about his time at Malvern with his classmates: “As we reflect on our time at Malvern, we see the impact of three values: Truth, Unity, and Love. Three values that guided us to be successful, impactful, and faithful young men.” He continued by telling his fellow graduates, “The love I have for each of you is unbounded, limitless, and a direct result of God’s presence on this campus.”

McCarry also expressed gratitude on behalf of the class of 2021 to the Augustinians on campus, their

teachers, mentors, and coaches. Last, he thanked his parents and the parents of his friar brothers saying, “I, alongside my brothers, thank you for allowing us to attend the same school and to be together for four fantastic years.”

This year’s Commencement Speaker was Joseph Davis, alumni of the Class of 1990, a member of the Board of Trustees and the father of graduating senior, Matthew Davis. Davis spoke of the hopes that the parents of the senior class have, “hopes that have been joined by feelings of immense pride and joy. For each one of you has become a man of

character, leaders with humility and heart in a world that has too few.” Davis shared what he had learned since his time at Malvern, offering that there are specific tools the graduates will need to find success.

The first is a compass — encouraging them to learn new skills and seek out knowledge. “My fellow Friars, keep your compass in your hand and see where it takes you,” shared Davis. The second tool he spoke of was a hammer, “a symbol of determination ... to get back up when you fall down.” Davis reminded the graduates that each of them has preserved and “hammered” on in the face of COVID. Last, Davis

offered a lesson he learned at Malvern, “Achieving success is not the same thing as living a successful life ... the hammer and the compass will help you achieve success.”

He added that the graduates would need one more tool, the most powerful tool of all, a cross around their neck representing their faith. “Gentlemen, you are men of character and faith that this world so desperately needs ... you have everything you’ll need for your journey — your compass and hammer in your hands and the cross around your neck,” said Davis. mp

For Malvern Prep, the number is 34% — more than 5 times the national average. To be a student-athlete requires a great deal of commitment, organization, and talent — both on the field and off. Friar SportsHighlights The 2020–21 athletic seasons will be memorable for our student-athletes and coaches for a variety of reasons — most notably the challenges we faced with COVID. The fall season got off to a late start but some fall sports did see competition.

Winter sports also saw a shortened season with limited competitions. However, just as COVID restrictions lifted in late winter/ early spring, so too did the morale of our student-athletes. As if making up for lost time, several athletic programs had historic seasons. Wrestling was named the #1 program in the country, Ice Hockey won the AAA Flyers Cup and AAA Pennsylvania Cup, both nationally ranked programs Baseball and Lacrosse finished the season as Inter-Ac Postseason Tournament Champions, and our Rowing team’s Quad placed second in the Nation, losing by only .0007 seconds to the firstplace finisher. This wasn’t an easy year, but I am so proud of our student-athletes and coaches for their resilience, and determination. Their hard work and support of one another paid off in big ways. Thank you to our parents, coaches, and student-athletes for your patience and cooperation this year.

While we won all of our contests by the scoring margin of 111 to 28 — including landmark wins vs. perennial powers like the Hun School, Salesianum, and Archbishop Wood, we are curious to know what our team’s fate would have been with a full season of games.

We are very proud of what this team accomplished on and off the field.

Despite limited games and not competing in the traditional Inter-Ac season, the Friars put together a challenging schedule culminating in a successful 6-3 record. Games began mid-October with wins against Archbishop Carroll and Monsignor Bonner.

The Friars then faced a thrilling game against Delaware powerhouse Salesanium, losing 1-0. The team experienced more success with wins against Roman Catholic, Holy Ghost Prep, and the Hun School. Hard-fought losses to LaSalle College HS and the Pennington School. By far, the most exciting and unforgettable game was against Archbishop Wood on November 12. Playing under the lights, the game went into double over time, with seconds left on the clock, senior Corey Brunner ‘21 strikes a perfect direct kick to end the game 2-1. A memorable evening with the teammates, fans, and the Varsity Football team storming the field in celebration. Even though sports and school life were greatly altered this year, the team was immensely grateful for the opportunity to compete and share the game they love. mp

The boys posted some very fast times, despite limited competitive opportunity, and the 400 free relay of Ben Kutufaris ‘23, Alex Hamill ‘22, Brady Tierney ‘23, and Kevin Cary ‘22 qualified as All-American with a time of 3:08. Diver Nick Harris ‘22 established a new Episcopal pool record and completed his 3rd consecutive season undefeated in the 1m. diving event. mp

The 4x100 meter relay team of D’Angelo Stocker ‘22, Matt Powers ‘22, Tyson McGee ‘23, and Stephen Hollander ‘22 set a school record in taking first in the League championship meet with a time of 43.04 seconds. D’Angelo Stocker set a new school record in the 100 meters at the Henderson Invitational, winning in a time of 10.79 seconds. Stocker also took gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters at the League championship. Max Robinson became the second pole vaulter in MP history to clear 14 feet, winning the League championship in 14’ 0”. Ryan Rosenberger was the third MP athlete to go over 23 feet in the long jump in winning the League championship. He also won the 110 meter high hurdles in 14.74 seconds. mp

The varsity quad had a historic undefeated scholastic regular season, won the Scholastic National Championship, and placed second (losing by .007 seconds) in the USRowing Youth National Championship. The lightweight double won the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the first time Malvern’s done so since 2011, and took second at the Scholastic National Championship, while the varsity double won the City Championships and placed second at Stotesbury, showing the depth and talent of the varsity program.

Additionally, our novice squad was one of the largest in Malvern’s history.

Not only did the novices have to learn how to row in singles in the fall, which provided their own set of challenges, but they also entered the spring season without the benefit of any prior racing experience due to the fall racing season’s cancellation. Trey grew up in Springfield, PA, and had a group of friends that always talked about going to school and playing football together. A mentor of his encouraged him to think about what life could be like at Malvern Prep. “My mom let me make that decision as a freshman but she interjected and said ‘I think you should go to Malvern because I think it will set you on the path that you want to go.’ Looking back, I realize it was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made,” he shared.

Womack fully immersed himself in all that Malvern had to offer once he stepped on campus. He played football, ran track, was a member of the Jazz Ensemble, and was even part of the first cohort of Malvern’s drumline. “A few of my classmates [were] inspired by the movie Drumline and wanted to get it instituted,” he explained. They were able 38

I think oftentimes when you have experiences like that, the people you think you’re going to help actually have more of an impact on your life than you do on theirs. Spending those couple days out there in Camden and just being able to be a bright spot in some folks’ day for that particular day was definitely a highlight for me,” reflected Womack.

Trey has spent a lot of time giving back to Malvern through his time, talent, and treasure. As a former Malvern track athlete and football player, he has spent time helping coach both teams. “When you give back and give your time, you may encounter a student that is going through a rough time through their academic journey or going through a rough transition period. And just you being there to encourage them and tell them how you made it through your challenging moments at Malvern and being able to give them that in-person testimonial a lot of times will help that student and help them realize that this is a moment that they will never forget. So that’s kind of what I valued as a coach,” said Womack.

Womack can relate to those students who may be going through a low point as his life took a different turn other than the one he was expecting. After graduating from Malvern, Trey went on to study at the University of Virginia where he also played college football. He put in lots of work and time and was on track to transition to the next level of his football career with hopes to play for the NFL. Sadly, at the time he graduated college, the NFL was experiencing a lockout. “I went through, I would say, an extreme valley point where I was trying to make sense of things because I spent so much time in this one effort, and I just came to learn that certain points of your valleys or certain points of really having a trying time is often where your purpose is birthed.”

Trey has certainly found his purpose now as the Assistant Director of Engineering Extension and Outreach at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. “Whatever role I’ve had in the past leading up to now, I think the most important thing, even for Malvern

“I can’t remember what specific teacher told me this but they just assured me that you go to school to learn how to learn. And once you’ve taught yourself how to learn, you can learn anything. That’s been my approach to everything.

Also, it was at Malvern where I just learned the power of networking. I learned the power of a brand and understanding how you’re connected to certain people because of where you went and the stories you can share that you’ve been through. That’s one of the models that I continue to use today. I think Malvern truly taught us how to add value to every situation and really to learn how to value others. There were so many moments, even in the middle of the pandemic, for us as humans to be selfish.

But if that was the case, we would not be able to press through to get to where we are getting to now. So learning to value the opinion of others is just crucial. If you truly want to have an impact and leave an impact, it’s learning how to value others. Even if it may seem at certain points as if what folks are offering doesn’t suit you or doesn’t impact you.

Learning how to find some sort of value in what is being said or done to enhance the experience for everyone is truly just some of the things that I’ve learned at Malvern.”

When asked for his best piece of advice for a new student, he said, “You’re a clean slate so really jump in and submerge yourself in everything that goes on at Malvern to feel yourself out and to discover who you are. If you come to Malvern with preconceived notions or thoughts on how things are going to work out, you stifle your potential. If you submerge yourself into the culture of what goes on at Malvern, what you discover who you really are and then you end up having a lasting impact on the culture of Malvern as a whole.”

It is safe to say that the lasting impact that Trey Womack has at Malvern will be felt for many years to come.

Alumni Induction Mass On May 5, 2021, Malvern Prep hosted its first Alumni Induction Mass for the graduating seniors of the Class of 2021. The event was coordinated by Mary Fran Frankenheimer P’21, Director of Alumni and Parent Relations. “We wanted the Class of 2021 to know that Malvern Prep will always be a part of who they are even after graduation in June. This Mass was an opportunity to symbolize the transition from student to alumni and share with them that giving back as an active alum to Malvern Prep will change the lives of future Friars. We also wanted to thank and honor those fathers who have chosen Malvern for their sons. It was a special day for everyone,” explained Frankenheimer.

Invited to the Mass were alumni fathers of the Class of 2021 who have continued their legacy by sending their sons to Malvern. President of the Alumni Association, Dr. Lou Giangiulio ’86 P’21 T welcomed the

graduating seniors to the Alumni Association and encouraged them to stay involved and active in the Malvern Community after they graduate. “True Malvern Alumni give back without being asked — they stay connected with the school and each other. They look out for each other and for those coming after them by volunteering their time and talents, and contributing what they can to Malvern. Make me one promise: No matter where your journey in life takes you, never forget the people or the places that got you to where you are,” shared Giangiulio.

Blake Gunther ‘12 wrote a book packed with motherly advice. After 18 months of research and interviews, Gunther has produced a book that shares wisdom from 38 mothers of successful people.

David Lanetti ‘15 received a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Net Zero Design from the School of Architecture and Planning at The Catholic University of America. The degrees were conferred in January 2021 and celebrated in May 2021. David is currently an associate at the architecture firm of Harrison Design in Washington, DC. Matthew Lanetti ‘15 is currently a Research Assistant and Ph.D. student in Chemistry at UNC-Chapel Hill working out of The Warren Lab. Matthew is a 2021 awardee of a Department of Defense fellowship from the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG) for his ongoing work in material science and engineering.

Kyle Anderson ‘16 is the recipient of a prestigious award from the One Love Foundation. Kyle won the 2021 Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award that recognizes the accomplishments of collegiate lacrosse players who demonstrate dedication, integrity, humility, hard work, community service, leadership, kindness, and sportsmanship.

Kyle was named the winner in all of Division I men’s lacrosse.

Zach DeStefano ‘17, a recent Computer Science graduate of the Honors Program at Villanova University and member of the Villanova Men’s Rowing Team, was named for the second consecutive year to the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Academic All-Conference Team. In addition, Zach won Villanova’s Virtual Reality programming competition, helping the Villanova community explore virtual reality and augmented reality as a medium for compelling interactive experiences that educate. At graduation ceremonies this spring, Zach was awarded Villanova’s Medallion of Excellence for the Computer Science department and has accepted a MacCracken Fellowship to NYU for the fall to continue his research in cryptography and computer science.
