Malvern Netball’s inaugural Walking Netball initiative attracted a small group of enthusiastic women who took the opportunity to give it a go; despite a dismal wet Saturday. Team numbers were made up with some of the social players before two teams, with vast age differences, learnt the basic rule variations, warmed up as per the ACC warm up suggestions and took to the court. “Most of us had probably played the running game of netball in past lives,” reported spokesperson for Walking Netball Val Mackenzie, Mackenzie “and for whatever reason, wanted to continue playing the game we love. However,” she stressed, “you do not need to have been a netballer to be able to enjoy the adapted game. “It was fantastic to see the comradeship, laughter and
