Last Wednesday, September 11th saw fourteen teams of local primary and intermediate aged students battle it out in the annual Dynastar Local Schools’ Ski Derby, held at Porters’ Ski Area. Great weather and the best snow conditions seen in years made for an action-packed day of racing. Supported enthusiastically by parents and teachers, the young ski racers competed for team and individual prizes, medals and trophies. Every competitor was acknowledged with a certificate of participation. This annual event

is sponsored by Gerald and Vivien Ottowa of Bobo Products, importers of Dynastar Skis and Lange boots. Their continued generosity is much appreciated. The GS ski race course was set on the groomed Easy Street slope by the Porters Snow Sports School. It was most rewarding to see students who have learnt to ski at Porters during school programmes and ski days returning to represent their schools. Congratulations to all the competitors and we look forward to seeing you next year. Full results on page 19….
