If it’s newsworthy and you know about it - we’d like to know too!

The biennial South Island Agricultural Field Days have just concluded in Kirwee, after running from March, 27th 29th. The event attracted thousands of people from rural communities over the three days of its duration. The late Hamish Reid was a vital part of the Field Days committee for twelve years and was its Chairman in 2003. Hamish’s family reside in the Kirwee area and it was fitting that one of its members should make a very special presentation at this year’s event. “Hamish was instrumental in initiating the move of Field Days to Kirwee,” commented his wife Andrea Reid. Reid The Hamish Reid Memorial Trophy for Best Overall Site was presented this year by Hamish and Andrea’s son, James Reid on behalf of the Reid family. “I heard comments that he

Dad would of loved it,” Andrea said. “Congratulations to PGG Wrightson for being the Overall Winner,” she added proudly. “This memorial is a lovely acknowledgement of his memory, it was definitely something he was passionate about,” Andrea concluded.
