Christmas is upon us again and brings another, fairlyfrantic, trading year, to a close. On reflection, costs seem to have escalated leaving many small businesses with considerably lower profits than previously and, in some cases, just no
work. We continue to be so, so appreciative of the community’s support for the News and really feel for those we’ve spoken to who are struggling a little at the moment. It is to be hoped this state of affairs is only a temporary, cyclic glitch and business confidence will return
in the New Year. We are aware that without the continued backing of our advertisers we couldn’t publish the News each week, we are extremely grateful for this and thank you all so much. Some of our advertisers have been with us since day one and many
others are close to that milestone. We are aware that a social media/online presence is impacting on print media, but it would appear we are doing something right by identifying our market and retaining our ‘community newspaper’ feel.
