The Friends of Kirwee Model School held their fundraising Casino night on Saturday, September 22nd raising funds for a much-needed School playground. The Casino night itself was run by the Malvern Lions, with the Friends of the School committee supplying food, drinks and rounding up over fifty prizes from generous sponsors around the South Island. The Hall was packed with dice games, racing games and roulette wheels to keep everyone entertained. After some practise runs the real games began where punters gambled their $30,000 funny money in a hope to win more money to spend over the two auctions for the evening. Some of the items on offer sold for millions! Silent auctions ran throughout the night and consisted of a Stihl Chainsaw, whale watching flight, Hanmer holiday package, TranzAlpine tickets and an electric sit to stand desk, which
were all taken home by happy bidders. The Friends of Kirwee Model School thank everyone who came along in support of the School, as well as all the parents who donated their time to help with making and serving supper, preparing the Hall and
