Kirwee Players’ Kids cast for their 2018 production of Annie Jr has been named. Auditions were held in early December with seventy children from all over Selwyn trying out for the roles. Two full days of auditions, saw some incredible talent walk through the doors of the community hall in Kirwee and it was reported that the

cast who will perform this classic, well known musical in April is sure to impress. Directed by the dynamic team of Clare Hamilton, Hamilton Caelan Thomas and Olivia Gibson, Gibson Annie Jr will run from April 6th - 8th, 2018. Promoters suggest News readers keep an eye out for updates on the Kirwee Players Facebook page or in the local paper.

The Bus Go Canterbury Team have been working behind the scenes in recent weeks gathering replies from the online survey following the decision by Redbus Ltd to cancel the Darfield and West Melton Bus Service, effec+ve now. A mee+ng held on December 15th, 2017 discussed ways of keeping the bus service and a survey was called for from interested persons to outline their commitment and usage requirements. To get a link to either the West Melton or the Darfield survey email: busgocanterbury@gmail.com Local Darfield man and bus-driver of the Darfield run for the past 7½ years, Don Reid commented that the route had been well patronised un+l the earthquakes changed the face of Canterbury. He added that Redbus had been extremely accommoda+ng as things evolved and he was hopeful the survey may allow the service to con+nue in some form or another.
