On Wednesday evening, June 28th, the Malvern Lions Club held its annual ‘Changeover Night’ at the Coalgate Tavern. This marks the end of the Club’s year, is the forum for reporting on achievements during the year, and for a new President and Board to be inducted. The year 2017 also marks the centenary of the organisation. Back in 1917 in Chicago, a

visionary named Melvin Jones created the first Lions Club, and since then the organisation has grown to over 1.4 million members. Currently the centennial convention is being held in that same city, and the Malvern Club is represented by Philip Lynch and Lindsey Telfer, Telfer along with Keith and Helen Taege.
