What a whirlwind year it has been for brothers, Keith and Brian Taege and their business Taege Engineering, based in Sheffield. Not only did their new invention - the Power Disc - take out the ‘Agri-Innovation Award’ at the March 2017 South Island Agricultural Field Days in Kirwee, but they have now gone on to win the Fieldays Established Prototype Award in the Mystery Creek National Fieldays Innovation Awards at the event held June 14th to 17th. Up

against 37 contestants, the eight judges said that Taege’s Power Disc was by far the outstanding winner. “The Mystery Creek Chairman commented on the Judges remarks at the prizegiving while presenting the awards,” Keith said. “They said that this product not only contained new ideas, but also had the potential for an improvement to agriculture that was far greater than originally intended.
