Kirwee farmers Garet and Emma Thomas have caught the ‘rally bug’ after co-driving in the October 2016, Hanmer Rally. Not satisfied with being in the passenger’s seat, Garet talked Emma into buying a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 2 rally car. Two days later they were entered in their first sprint, finishing in the top ten. The husband and wife pair then set their sights on the West Coast rally in March this year, and again had outstanding results - finishing in the top ten out of sixty competitors. In April, Garet and Emma headed to the Rally of Otago, noted as one of the best rallies

Garet and Emma have set their sights on competing in all seven South Island rallies this season hoping to achieve a top fifth to tenth placing overall and Garet and Emma Thomas with their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 2 potentially aiming at Novice Rally car in the Otago Rally, April 7th-9th.
