Earlier in March New Zealand Golf selected a junior men’s team to represent New Zealand in the Australian Boys' Amateur Golf Championship in Wollongong and local golfer Dominic Brettkelly was named as a member. The tournament which took place from April 5th to 7th, is open to players aged under eighteen years on the first day of play. It is contested over 72-holes stroke play (cut after 36-holes).The first Australian Boys’ Amateur Championship was played in 1982 over 54-holes stroke play for players under 21 years of age. The New Zealand team travelled over to Australia and had a couple of practise rounds scheduled before the competition, to familiarise

Parker The pair were the leading Kiwis finishing four under for the four rounds, just three shots behind the winner. “Dominic enjoyed the experience and felt privileged to represent New Zealand for the first time,” reported his mother and father Steph Neutze and Matt Brettkelly. Brettkelly “All being well this is one of the steps in Dominic’s confident, optimism and encouraging journey,” they added.
