The fourth of seven events in the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series, was held in Corsair Bay, not far from Christchurch on Saturday 4th March. The leg consisted of four different swim events, but outstanding local success was achieved in the 'OceanKids' class. This is a swim for children aged between 7-13 years old, consisting of a 200 metre shallow water triangular swim off Corsair Bay, lined with Surf Life Saving NZ guards. The New Zealand Ocean Swim
Series has been a catalyst for positive change to thousands of Kiwis by providing them with the motivation to get active and healthy, as they train for their challenge. Local swimmers Chloe Newbigging (Female 11-12 years and third overall) and Poppy Freeman (7-8 Years old) both achieved first places in this event - a creditable achievement.
