The annual ‘Keep New Zealand Beautiful’ day was held on Friday, September 16th with thirty three volunteers from Fonterra, Darfield High School and Waste Management turning up on the day. The Darfield collection was organised by local Alice Rackham, Rackham of Fonterra. The Waste Management team provided a truck load of bins, along the roadside for collectors to walk between and empty their collection bags. “There was no shortage of

rubbish to pick up with a huge number of cans and cigarette packets,” commented Alice. The event proved to be a great community gathering and as a thank you to the volunteers a barbeque was held after the collection. Nationwide over 30,000 tidy Kiwis take part in this annual event making a huge difference
