The Music Managers Forum (MMF) Music Managers Awards 2016, saw local singer/ s ongw r iter/m an ager M el Parsons win the ‘Best Independent Tour’ category. The prestigious awards event, held in Auckland on Tuesday, May 10th, hosted some of the most influential artists in the New Zealand music industry. Among them were the most accomplish ed manager s, i n du s t r y pr o f es s i on al s , celebrities and other representatives from the many facets that come together to make up the music industry. Mel was in attendance amongst the musically elite congregation after being nominated for three MMF awards. She won the Best Independent Tour award in recognition of book ing, promoting and performing her

Deans Mel was visibly pleased with the win, which honoured not only her musical talent, but also her self-management skills. "It's a real honour to be recognised by the industry for work in the independent touring sector at the MMF Awards. I get to work alongside a lot of great people to make these things happen, and I am very grateful to our wonderful audiences locally in Selwyn, and all around New Zealand who keep coming back to make these tours successful," she enthused.
