How to Spot AI-Generated Content
AI is no longer just a buzzword, it’s everywhere. From social media to news and entertainment, AI-generated content is becoming harder to spot. Knowing the warning signs can help you avoid being misled. · AI-generated images often look too perfect. Lighting may seem overly even, surfaces can appear glossy, and fine details often give things away. Watch for distorted backgrounds, garbled text or numbers, and people with extra or misplaced hands or limbs, a common AI giveaway. · AI-generated videos can look slick but unnatural. Clothing colours may change between shots, facial movements can feel off, and body posture may appear awkward. Blurred mouths or audio that doesn’t quite sync with speech are strong warning signs. With newer tools like Google’s Veo 3, these videos are getting more convincing, so if something looks unbelievable or too good to be true, stay sceptical. · AI-generated audio is increasingly used in scams. Voices may sound robotic, overly polished, or lack natural background noise. If a call or voice message feels off, pause and verify. Creating a family “safeword” can add extra protection.
