There is so much to experience in Selwyn, including taking a journey along the Great Alpine Highway by car or train into the Southern Alps where you will find stunning waterfalls and kea. The highway also passes six ski fields, where you can enjoy uncrowded skiing in winter and great trails to explore during the summer months.

If you’re feeling adventurous, take a ride in New Zealand’s only airboat along the Waimakariri River, or float across the Canterbury Plains in a hot air balloon.
