DARFIELD GUN CLUB UPDATE
Twenty two shooters, including Sophie and Brooke from Toowoomba on a flying visit, enjoyed the June 4th shoot at Darfield Gun Club. It was a nottoo-inclement start to the day, with a light northerly but heavy cloud, so was a bit dull. The EyeOpener was very testing with just the one possible(25/25) in A Grade, by Scott Turner and three 24’s. B Grade top score was 24, and C Grade was 20. Unfortunately, this was the end of the good conditions as the southerly started to blow strongly.
The Side by Side shoot was a bit of a lottery, with Trap Two easier to score on than Trap One. All three grades were won on Trap Two.

Once again, the ten pair Deauville Doubles, with drawn pairs, produced some excellent shooting, with three pairs shooting 19/20. Ross Turner and Dave Folley (Mr Smooth) were the first to qualify, although they were quickly joined by Danniell Williams and Rupert Wright and lastly by Brodie
Mangels and Bevan Brown
The first two pairs in the ShootOff had the occasional spot of rain, and despite a good start, Ross and Dave struggled, dropping several targets. Danniell and Rupert shot better, dropping just two targets, which left a small window of opportunity for Brodie and Bevan. Some good shooting saw them finish with 19 once again to win the Trophy.
Many thanks also to Marcel VanLeeuwen for sponsoring the shoot and to all the helpers for their efforts.
The next shoot will be held on Sunday, July 2nd, at 12:30pm. Everyone is welcome.
